𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 the fact that he was split into a group with Taīshi. On the bright side Y/n was also in the group so that happened to be a plus. He stood to the back as they both chatted about random things. Truly he wasn't focused on anything they were saying and was mostly focused on his thoughts.

They were dark at the moment.

Tomioka perked up as he heard Taīshi flirting with Y/n again. Looking to the side he could sense something coming towards them. Sighing he was swift in his moment and kicked Taīshi away while swiftly picking Y/n up. Jumping out the way he came to a slid next to Taīshi who was rubbing his head, as he hit it on the ground when he landed.

"What the hell!" Taīshi said as he looked over to Tomioka before we faltering as he heard a growl as it sounded. He was slow to look over to where he once stood and there stood a demon.

"Get up." Tomioka coldly said before gently placing

Y/n down on her feet. Unsheething his blade he stepped forward before quickly dashing towards the demon. The demon was quick to attack him but he was faster than the demon. Evading the demons attack he calmly took the demons head clean off.

Skidding to a stop he looked down at the demon that began to curse at him. He didn't care much about the demons insults as it was a common thing with demons. At first he hadn't thought that the demon could speak in the first place.

"Tomioka-san watch out!" His eyes slightly widened as he watched black smoke take hold of the demons head on the ground. Now that he thought about it the demon didn't begin to disintegrated when it lost its head.

"𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 - 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐱." Tomioka was quick to attack the demon before they could re-attache their head. He didn't pause for a moment in his attacks and it seemed no matter how many times he cut their head off. Finally the demon managed to find an opening and jumped back, away from Tomioka.

"She'll be so furious when she finds out." The demon grumbled before fleeing away from the group.

"We can't let them get away-"

"Don't go after them, something is wrong and we need to regroup." Tomioka abruptly said cutting Taīshi off while flicking his wrist, throwing the blood of his blade. He sheathed his blade before turning to look at Taīshi and Y/n who was still startled but also starstruck.

"Dude that demon will go off and kill someone, we have to kill it before it-"

"Are you going to kill it, you weren't even aware that they were heading in this direction. You also seem to be blind as you saw despite me decapitating their head, they did not die. You lack battle skill and intelligence, we're regrouping." Tomioka said interrupting Taīshi who seemed upset with the answer he'd received. With that he walked past Taīshi and over to Y/n who's eyes were practically sparkling.

"That was so cool!" Y/n brightly said and Tomioka simply lightly hit the top of her head.

"Pay more attention to your surroundings." Tomioka said and Y/n gave a nod while smiling brightly. As Tomioka walked past Y/n who was quick to follow after him, Tomioka found his gaze on the ground. His face was lightly flushed as he replayed Y/n's compliment in his head.

'I was cool...'

"Ugh this is so stupid." Taīshi lowly grumbled as he glared at Tomioka who walked ahead of them.

"Oh calm down Taīshi, he's right after all something is wrong here. If we regroup then we can tell the others about what we found. Even if we tried to keep attacking the demon they won't die." Y/n said as she pat Taīshi's back in attempt to console him. Taīshi grumbled and simply shrugged her hand away from his.

"It wouldn't hurt to try...." Taīshi's glare was now directed towards the ground and Y/n couldn't help but to frown.

"I know it's frustrating but we have to think logically and do things within reason."

𝐊𝐀𝐈𝐊𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐖𝐔𝐍𝐆 her legs and hummed lightly as she looked down at Izaki and Hikaru bicker between each other. They had already gotten back to the meet up spot after splitting up for a bit. Uzui had long since ditched the group saying it would be faster. That being said Kaika sat in a tree as she waited excited to see Y/n and Tomioka again.

She couldn't help but to think back to what she told Tomioka when they first started the mission. Despite her being young and somewhat very naive to things. She was fully aware of the fact that Tomioka was jealous of Taīshi. It was sorta obvious if you've been around the raven haired male long enough.

'How could I fix that...Y/n obviously likes Tomioka-san...'

Kaika held her chen and went further into her thoughts thinking of how to fix things. Removing herself from her thoughts she could hear something swiftly coming in their direction. Looking down at Izaki and Hikaru, she could see that they were still bickering. It didn't seem like they noticed that something was swiftly approaching.

'Well I suppose I can handle it.'

Standing up she was quick to jump up while doing a flip in the air. Izaki and Hikaru stopped bickering and glanced over to Kaika. Suddenly a demon came rushing through seeming to be fleeing from something.

"𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 - 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥." With that Kaika was able to cut the demon in half. Sliding to the ground she let out a hum and stood up straight. The demon moved away from her while glaring at her with their shakey gaze.

"Demon!"

"Jump it!" With that Hikaru and Izaki unsheethed their swords ready to attack the demon. They faltered as they saw black smoke come from the demons body and pick up their decapitated arms. Before the arms could re-attached Kaika was quick to attack the demon once more.

The demon was quick to get away and before Izaki and Hikaru could follow.

"Stop, don't follow it." The three of them stopped and turned.
