It's been a couple of weeks since I started school, and moved in with my mum.
She rarely talks to me, and when she does it's usually her asking when I'm moving out. I still love her though I know she's stressed with her and Daniels's two kids and now me
I've made a couple of friends, one is my coworker, well kinda my boss .... And she may or may not be a 65-year-old woman.
The entry bell rings interrupting my thoughts. I look up from the notepad I had been doodling on. A tall sturdy figure walked, in along with Alec.
It's been two weeks since I spoke to him. I mean I've seen him in class but he disappears after the bell.
"Hi what can I get you two today" I plaster a smile on my face, happy to see that he's finally back. He looks up from his phone making eye contact with me, I look away from his intimidating stare.
"Caramel iced coffee please," Alec says with a smile on his face. I look over at the other guy "Small black coffee".
I start making their coffee, when Alec leans on the counter looking up and me. He says "Sooo you coming to the game tonight?"
"Game?" I question turning off the coffee maker. "Yea there's gonna be a football game tonight, and an after-party, wanna come." He raises his eyebrows in excitement. "Nicholas wants you there," He says nudging his friend making him glare at him.
"Nicholas?'' He looks up from his phone confused. "Oh no sorry it's I didn't know your name," I say embarrassed.
"You coming tonight?" His deep dark voice questions. "Uh I'm not sure" I stumble with my words.
"Mm" Is all he mutters out. Alec is making kissy faces at him while nudging his shoulder.
I can't help but giggle at the interaction.
I hand them both their coffee and give them their receipt. " think about it will you, Minnie?"
He says grabbing his coffee. "Minnie?" I say giggling whilst grabbing my notepad. "Yea your nickname," He says.
"I'll think about it," I say. "Great I'll text you," He says pointing his finger at me before heading to the door and waving goodbye.
I had forgotten all about Nicholas, as I look up at him I notice he was already staring at me.
I tilt my head and send him a friendly smile before saying " Bye Nicholas" in a somewhat flirtatious tone.
He looks away, cleared his throat, muttering "Yea whatever" before leaving the shop.
Right after he leaves my face flushes red. OMG OMG WHYY DID I DO THAT.
For the rest of my shift, I can't help but think of how he might think I'm weird now.
Its 5:00 and the shop is finally closed. I still wasn't sure if I wanted to go to the party or not so I texted Dianna, my other friend, and asked her if she was going.
After a few minutes of waiting for a text back, she finally responded saying that she was gonna ask me to go with her.
I settled on going to the party and not the game since I know nothing about football.
After cleaning everything it was about 6:00 and Derrick was outside to pick me up. I grab my bag, locked the door, and headed to the car.
"Sorry for coming late I just got your text" he apologizes and pulls out of the parking lot. "So," I say, "You think mum will mind if I go to this party tonight" an instant grin spread across his face.
