"I want you out of this house," she says, her hands clamped into a fist as she holds her robe together.

"No, honey calm down we can talk about this tomorrow," Daniel says, trying to calm her down.

"She can stay with me" Derrick volunteers, helping me to my feet. "I don't care where she goes as long as it's not here."

With tears still filling my eyes, I walk upstairs and quickly pack my bags. After packing my bags I head downstairs.

Daniel hugs me goodbye and says that he'll handle the situation tomorrow. I told him I was fine and that he should take care of mum.

"Get out" a cold voice hisses. I look over at her, she was furious. "Love you too mom" is all I could spit out without breaking down again.

I hear Derrick's car horn honk as I leave. I get in the passenger's seat after placing my bags in the back.

I look Derrick in the face with tears falling down my face "She doesn't love anymore." I cry, my face is red and swollen.

"It's ok, " He says leaning over to hug me. I hug him back grasping his shirt into my fist.

We had finally arrived at his apartment "How do You feel?" He asked me as he placed a hand on my shoulder to comfort me.

Wiping my tears and smearing my makeup, I plaster a smile on my face "I'm fine"

He helps with my bags and he shows me to his guest room "This apartment is huge" I say my eyes wandering everywhere.

"Yea my mom's loaded, gets kinda lonely thought" He places my bags on the floor and hugs me before leaving.

I unpack my things, allowing all the memories to flood in. I allow my tears to fall instead of keeping it all in.

I allow the feeling of abandonment and shame to flood over me as I sit on the floor clutching my legs.

I eventually get up and take a shower. Derrick offered me some food but I don't have an appetite.

I climb in bed staring at a "family" picture. Thinking of how now they are simply strangers to me....strangers with memories.

I wake up to the sound of my phone alarm going off. I get out of bed and head to the shower before going downstairs.

As I make my way downstairs the strong smell of pancakes and bacon bombard me. I walk into the kitchen to see a shirtless Derrick bobbing his head to some music while cooking.

As I watch in amusement I see a monster of a dog come out of his room. The dog is a honey brown color and seems friendly.

I can't help but pet him in excitement. "And you must be Poohbear" I smile at how chubby he is.

As I walk toward Derrick tapping him on the shoulder, an oddly feminine scream fills the room.

He tries to cover his chest in shock before relaxing. "Jesus lady, you scared me." He hands me a plant and a glass of orange juice.

"So how you holding up," He asks sitting down next to me. " I'm great why," I say stuffing my face.

His face flushes with pity. "You know you can talk to me, right?" he says tilting his head offering a small smile.

"I know, thank you so much for breakfast but I gotta get to work," I say rushing my plate to the sink before grabbing the rest of my stuff and heading outside.

Derrick's house is only a 15 minute or so walk, so I put my headphones in and started walking.

I eventually reach the shop where I find Mrs. V working the counter. "Good Morning dear," She says opening her arms.

I walk behind the counter rushing into her warm and comforting hug. "Oh dear, go clock in so I can go to the bookstore," she says nudging me.

I can't help but giggle at the interaction she's so sassy. After serving a few customers, two familiar faces walk through the door, chiming the entry bell.

Nicholas and Alec walk in. A smile spreads across my face "Goodmorning, what can I get you guys."

"I'll have a muffin," Alec says in a groggy tone. Without asking I write down Nicholas's order.

Nicholas walks to a booth to wait on their coffee, while Alec stays. I give him a confused look.

"Yes Minnie I look like shit," he says rolling his eyes, I giggle. "He doesn't even like coffee you know."

"Pardon?" I say confused. "Nic, He doesn't like coffee yet he drags me out f bed at 8 am, just to wait until YOUR shift starts." He teases moving his eyebrows up and down.

I just laugh it off telling him to so sit and wait for his muffin like a good boy. "Yea ok mom," he says rolling his eyes.

After I finish their order I start to head over to them when I overhear a bit of their conversation. "do it" Alec teases before noticing me.

"Do what?" I ask looking between both of them, before placing down their tray. "Nicholas has something to ask you!" Alec says before Nicholas can stop him.

I tilt my head giving him a small questioning smile. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out after your shift" He murmurs turning red.

" I'd love to," I say smiling more than usual. "Give me 15minutes and I'll get someone to cover my shift"

I walk off, my face turning red, my mind going crazy. (Don't panic you got this)
