"I'm like ninety nine percent sure this is it?" Brooklyn looked from the image on her phone to the building that was in front of them. "It's it right?"
Axel looked from her phone to the diner and back to her phone again. "I... think so?"
Dae shrugged and pushed past them. "As long as they have food and caffeine, I'm good with it."
"Agreed! We have spent an hour looking for this place and I'm done." Kyle followed Dae. "I just need caffeine! My feet are tired from all the walking."
"And my ears are tired from listening to you complain about it," Axel muttered under his breath so only Brooklyn could hear him. She winked and followed the children of the group.
Once they were inside, the smell of coffee was overwhelming, which is always a good sign and the best smell in the world when you are tired.
"Where do you want to sit?" Brooklyn asked. There was a selection of booths and regular tables, but she didn't really need to ask, Dae and Kyle had already made a beeline for a booth. "Guess we're sitting there then." She laughed. "Get one beside the window!" Brooklyn called after them. "I want to be able to see America!"
"But all you can see is traffic!" Kyle said back. He had already dropped into one of the booths, opposite Dae.
"Yes," Brooklyn slid in beside Kyle, "But it's American traffic, they drive on the other side of the road! It's so weird."
Axel used one of the laminated menus to shield his eyes. "They look like they are about to crash. That's making me nervous." Dae put her arm around him, at first Brooklyn thought she was being kind but really she was just trying to reach over and take the menu from him.
"What does everyone want?" Kyle asked, scanning his own menu.
Brooklyn peered over at the group in the booth next to them. "Whatever that girl is drinking looks really nice." She nodded to the girl with the iced drink.
"I think it's an iced latte, Brook," Dae said, following Brooklyn's gaze. "And you're right, it does look really nice."
After Kyle had ordered for them all and they were sipping on the dregs of their drinks when Axel said, "Does anyone actually know how we are going to get to Disney World?"
"We're going to Disney World?" Dae exclaimed.
"Yes..."
"That's so great for us!"
"How are you only realising this now?" Axel raised his eyebrow.
Dae shrugged.
"That's a good point, Ax," Kyle said, swirling the ice in the bottom of his cup, "How are we going to get to Disney World? It's not like we can walk and besides, none of us have a clue where it is."
"We really should have thought this through...." Brooklyn added.
"Did you guys hear their accents?" Syd nodded to the group of teens who had just sat down way too excitedly in their booth.
"They must be British or something! How cool is that?" Lacey said excitedly, feeling only slightly guilty for eavesdropping.
"Sounds like they're headed to Disney World, too," Daniel commented.
"We should offer to help with directions!" Lacey suggested.
"Not it," Syd said immediately.
"I'm just following her," Colin added.
"Alright, Dorky Dimples, you're with me," Lacey pushed him out of the booth with a surprising amount of confidence and they walked over to their booth.
