I was currently in Art class and trying to focus when a notification sound from my phone distracted me.
I sneakily placed the textbook that was in front of me on my lap so that the spine of the book leaned against the table. From an onlooker it probably looked like I was reading. It was from my alleged cousin who refused to reveal his true identity no matter how many times i hounded him for it.
Cuz: Are u in class?
Me: Nope. Jxt taking a dip in de nearest sewage infested lake. Wanna join?
Cuz: I think I'd pass. Tnx though.
Me: You're welcome Mr...
Cuz: Smart move, Blacke but I'm not falling for it.
Anyway after your lesson is over go to your locker my mum gave me something to be given to you. It's in your locker.Me:Wait!! What!! HOW DID YOU GET MY LOCKER CODE. Oh my gosh. You are a stalker.
Cuz:Well technically I'm your cousin so it isn't considered stalking. Especially, if it's from an extremely hot specimen😘😘.
Me:🤧🤧🤧🥵😱🤯🥴🥴
Cuz:😂😂🤣🤣
Adìos.Me: 👋👋
I quickly slipped the phone inside my bag which was on the floor beside my leg and gave the book my attention.
After some time, i looked up only to see the Arts tutor staring at me silently.
My cheeks flushed at the thought of being caught as i stared back at him meekly. He nodded and retraced his steps back to his desk. Immediately he was gone a huge breathe of relief escaped.
I would've surely gotten a detention chit if I had been caught. I gave thanks to the man up there and started packing my bags since it was few minutes to change lesson.I grabbed my bag and dashed out of the class immediately the siren sounded. I slowed down when I got to my locker and opened it.
The smell of cupcakes greeted me when I opened it.
I smiled and took out the neatly packaged cupcakes.
It had a card stuck on the bowl so i took it and placed the bowl aside so i could read the letter.
Dear Lettie,
This cupcake recipe was invented by someone really close to me. Hope you like them. With love,
Christina
I took one out and tasted it and oh man did it taste good. Then an idea popped into my head.I entered the cafeteria and approached Sierra who was sitting quietly at a table munching on what looked to be a burger.
I sat in front of her and pushed the cupcakes towards her with an innocent smile. She frowned then turned away from me.
My smile vanished as my heart thudded painfully. The only female friend I had managed to make after my previous friend moved away was now pissed off.
. Once again, I had ruined everything. Justin's degrading words echoed in my head once again as I prepared to get up.
A hand tugged in my wrist and I looked up to meet Sierra's gaze. She motioned for me to sit down and I did so after exhaling in relief.
"I'm sorry, Lettie. It's just so hard seeing you with him. I know I should've told you earlier but I thought it was a just a crush that will fade away with time. It was only when you guys got together that I realised that it run very deep." She confessed softly.
I reached out and placed my hand over her's squeezing it softly before smiling at reassuringly.
. "If you want, I can break up with Will."
"No! Please, don't. I don't want to be the reason why you guys separate. It's okay. I will manage." She smiled softly.
A smile took over my lips as I formulated a plan in my head. I had decided to play cupid now. I squealed in childish delight in my head at the genius plans my brain came up with.
She frowned at me and looked at me with a look of uncertainty on her face.
"I shouldn't be worried, right?"
" I would say yes but I don't wanna lie to you. Just go along with the flow. And try these cupcakes."
She reached over and took out one before taking a bite. She moaned in delight as her eyes gleamed.
"It tastes heavenly. Where did you buy them?" Sierra questioned.
"It's a long story. By the way, where is William?" I asked.
"He has football practice. Told me tell you that he'll see you later."
I nodded and offered her another cupcake.
"So... The long story?"
I sighed then placed a while cupcake in my mouth just so I wouldn't be able to talk. I pointed to my mouth and managed a smile.
She burst out into laughter and leaned in on her elbows.
"I've got plenty of time." She said with a saccharine smile.
I groaned and prepared for the long story telling.
