Elizabeth flew through the sky with the wind and realm rushing by her as she paid no mind to any of it. No, she only focused on the freedom she felt from flying, the elation, the excitement, she focused so heavily on these things, that the girl nearly ran into several other goddesses flying about that were not happy with her lack of attention.
Apologizing multiple times as her speed never stopped, she continued to her destination and savored every moment of the flight until she was forced to land.
Now in a different realm, that of the fairies, Elizabeth landed gracefully as several creatures and critters rushed to greet her. After all, she was a goddess of life, and as such could easily heal wounds and had a deep connection to the wilderness around her.
Saying hello as the creatures chattered and chirped at her, she gave a few squirrels and bunnies some pats before moving on to why she had come. To meet with the Fairy King and her close friend, Harelquin.
Although the visit itself was one she was excited about, the reason behind it was not one that was pleasant or one she was eager to discuss. Yet she had no choice. As the future leader of the goddess realm, this matter was one that would fall into her hands as her mother and current leader was away dealing with business with the giants.
Sighing deeply as she tried to steel herself for the conversation ahead, the girl folded her beautiful, fluffy, snow white wings and walked to the meeting spot where the two leaders were to converse about.. events, going on.
You see, regardless of the bright skies and the light mood of the realms, there was a war going on. One between the goddesses and the demons, that was now affecting humans as well as the other realms. Meaning allies were being brought in, and demons were becoming more and more desperate to corrupt humans and goddesses into more soldiers for their cause.
It started over a year ago when the first goddess was corrupted. Every goddess had something they represented. A core, as they called it. It was meant for not only the benefit and harmony of the others goddesses, but also for humans; the beings Goddesses guided and protected. The more humans that were created and followed the values that were the core of the winged creatures, the stronger goddesses became. However... when the first human strayed and went against the core of a goddess, following greed rather than selflessness, darkness was born and every human was filled with that same temptation and darkness. Now as more humans strayed more goddesses were corrupted and the darkness grew stronger. Causing war as goddesses tried to resist it and stop lives being lost.
Feeling her heartbeat increase as nervousness took its hold, the optimistic girl smiled through the feeling and forced herself to keep her composure and forget exactly why this was such a sensitive topic for her.
With years of practice on her side, she pushed down the negative feelings to stay the bright girl she was, and the goddess finished her short trip to the meeting spot where a picnic had been set up.
"What's all this King? I thought it was a simple report this month?"
Startled by her presence as him and some of his subjects set everything up, he gave an embarrassed blush and chuckled before answering the curious girl's question.
"Yeah well I just thought we could make it a bit more comfortable since we're old friends and all. Not to mention, I know how much you like tarts!"
He held up his example while Elizabeth laughed pleasantly, her internal mood not matching it as she knew he was doing all of this to soften the blow of whatever he was about to tell her. Especially since the two hadn't done something like this since before the war and before he was crowned king...
There was no time, and something had changed in King. Made him more serious and more stern. Looking at facts rather then being the sensitive boy crying about children losing stuffed animals at night. So if he, the one who usually just told people bad news outright, planned all of this? The two had a very uncomfortable conversation ahead. Unless he just acquired a sudden need for blueberry tarts and punch.
