There was a huge blast of wind that left everyone watching stunned. Her magic had never been so attack oriented; even Meliodas standing a safe distance away was knocked back!

"Oof! L-Let me guess... wind shield attempt?"

"Y-Yes. Are you okay Meliodas!? I didn't mean to knock you back!"

She was so timid back then, like the one they had grown up around.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine! That's a great attack for large groups though. Lots of range! Seems like Wind blast is more accurate now!"

"Yeah.."

Elaine still seemed so nervous, like she didn't know how to process her new magic, and it wasn't just those watching that noticed.

"I know this is all new and a little scary... but we just have to adjust to it, okay?"

The blond girl nodded with a soft smile, slightly more at ease. Although that ended pretty quickly as two red demons burst through the small opening of the cave like structure.

Quickly reacting, Meliodas grabbed the girl and hid carefully behind a fallen rock.

"Where... new demons?"

"Smell led here... demons... not here..."

It was odd watching the interaction, they seemed much more instinct based and their voices barely resembled anything normal. It was like thousands of voices stitched together with a growl like substance holding it together. However seeing such a sight raised the question... why weren't the two the same way?

Elaine was a bit of a special case in her turning, however what about Meliodas and Ban? Goddesses and humans had been seen getting turned countless times into the big red demons, so what was different about them? Why were they still themselves? Why were they still even concious as the same people?

It seemed like Elizabeth wasn't the only one who noticed such an observation. Meliodas had the same thoughts rolling around in his head.

They're so.. brutish. Nothing like the people they used to be, and nothing like us! Is it somehow based on powerlevel? Does that somehow effect intelligence and physical looks? What if it's a slower process and we DO end up like that? What if- no. Don't go down that rabbit hole now! Elaine is already scared and worried, I can't make her feel worse by adding to it! I need to stay strong, I need to stay positive! Let's see... what brightside can I find in this. Um... a-at least they don't see us? Uh... we can... um.... we can follow them! Yes! When they leave, we can follow them to figure out where the demons stay! We might be able to learn some things!

Ignoring the marks added onto his arm, he tapped Elaine to get her attention before flicking his head to the side once she looked at him to signal that they were going to move behind the demons. Although she clearly didn't agree with the choice if wide golden eyes and violent shaking of her head had anything to say. He took her hand and led her gently regardless though, no time to discuss as the demons began stomping out of the area.

They're loud. That's good! We don't have to be too quiet as they probably can't hear us very well.

Meliodas walked slowly to keep a good distance between him and the demon and he kept Elaine behind him as almost a form of protection.

I don't know what they'll do if they spot us or how dangerous where they're going is, so we'll have to be careful even if they can't hear very well.
