Elizabeth was once again filled with anxiety as she had a familiar meeting with King. Only this time, she was the one who set it up, and the nervousness was for a different reason.
You see, absolutely no one knew about her relationship with Meliodas. It had only started about three months ago when he approached her and showed that he was still the same as before, just with different abilities and a bit more sass.
She didn't know how he was the same, but she trusted his word and promise to keep her safe from the demons. After all, they had known each other their whole lives, and she had learned to see the best in people from him, she would continue to do so for him as well. She chose to believe her Meliodas was still the one without the wings and with the sassy remarks.
Which was also why she trusted his word about what and where he had said the item to win the war was..
A small, simple, scroll kept deep in the mountains of Dotrun was capable of sealing the entire newly formed demon race and the darkness along with it, however because Meliodas was the only one who could lead them there and it would have to be a being of light (a goddess) who cast the incantation to seal the demon race away, he asked for her help with his protection and guidance on the journey.
After awhile of thought, she had agreed but had asked if King could come along. He deserved to be a part of the solution to this war after everything he'd lost to it. His parents, his sister, his freedom... She was gratful when Meliodas agreed, but that took the goddess to here. Standing around feeling more nervous then she had during their previous meeting and having no idea how she was going to present this to the fairy nor how he would take it.
Knowing that Meliodas was watching nearby helped put her at ease some as she forced herself to take a deep breath and keep calm. He would come out if anything happened or whenever King was ready to see him, however that couldn't happen if she didn't get these nerves under control and explain everything herself.
Something she was determined to do now as the fairy walked up to her.
"Elizabeth, you wanted to meet? Is everything alright? I'm afraid I only have a few minutes."
"Y-Yes everything is fine, it's just... I need to tell you something."
"Alright, what's going on?"
Feeling anxious once more, she took a quick glance at the trees and reminded herself again to take a deep breath before continuing in a calmer, steadier tone.
"I.. found a way to end the war."
Watching as Harelquin's demeanor went from calm and slightly concerned about her behavior to completely bewildered and shocked, he began asking question after question, each one getting harder to handle as the answers would lead to the truth..
"W-What? What can end it? Where did you get that information? What do we need to do?!"
Watching as he continued to spiral, she butted in to answer his borage of questions before more could be added.
"I'll explain everything King, I promise.... but I need you to take deep breaths and stay calm when I do.."
"How did you find out about this Elizabeth? I don't like the way you said that..."
Hearing the caution and worry once more in his voice, she forced herself to continue regardless of part of her screaming protest.
"Th-There's... someone who told me about it."
"Who?"
"A.. demon."
His mood changes once again as a blink of suprise quickly turned to caution, worry, and then finally... anger.
