Today was Wednesday. Tomorrow night was the reception. Friday was the wedding.
Tonight, we decided to do the bachelor and bachelorette party. Haven and I were celebrating with one of our signature sleepovers (Icecream, talk, and sleep). I had no clue what Lawrence and the boys were going to do.
Haven and I raced down to the kitchen's freezer to get ice cream. We laughed as we kept tripping over each other.
We got back to Haven's room and started to talk. We talked about how the week was going. Haven didn't want to talk about the wedding, and everytime I mentioned it, she would become distant.
Haven soon fell asleep and I was wide awake, so I took upon the liberty of putting the ice cream up. On my way back, I saw Lawrence and James and Brookes with his ventilator, walking towards Haven's closed door.
"What are you doing?" I said from behind the group of boys.
Lawrence jumped. "What? We're not doing anything."
"Then why were you about to go into Hav's room?"
"We... weren't?" I gave him a look which made him sigh, "Fine. We were going to prank her."
"How?" I asked.
He came closer and took both my hands in either of his. "Remember a few years ago when you caught me going through Haven's makeup?"
"Yeah, and you promised you wouldn't draw on mine with it as long as I didn't tell." I laughed at the memory.
"Yep! So that's what we're doing. Would you like to help?"
I thought for a second. "She'll be mad, ya know."
"Yeah, but it will be hilarious!"
"Ok."
He looked to James and Brookes. "You heard the lady. Let's go boys!"
We all snuck into the room and saw Haven sprawled out on the bed. We tip-toed into the bathroom and I showed them to where all the makeup products were.
"What the heck is this?" James asked while holding up a bottle of foundation.
I laughed. "That's foundation. It spreads over her face to cover blemishes. It's literally the foundation of the makeup you put on your face."
"Oh." He said but I could tell he didn't fully understand.
"But to do this, we need lipstick." Lawrence spoke up, "Grab a color, soldiers, and then we draw!"
I grabbed a bright pink shade, Lawrence picked a blue, James picked an orange and Brookes chose a simple red.
We all tip-toed back into the bedroom where Haven was literally hanging off the bed.
James laughed. "She's so adorable, isn't she?"
We all looked at him.
"What? Just because we don't want to marry each other, doesn't mean I can't think she's cute." He shrugged and we all nodded in agreement.
Then we went to work.
Lawrence drew lines and squiggles on her face, Brookes and I drew hearts and smiley faces, and James just scattered dots around her forehead and cheeks.
When we were about to leave, we heard mumbling. I turned to see that Haven had moved herself to cuddle into the pillow, while smudging the lipstick.
We walked back over to her and I realized what she mumbled: "Ashton".
A hint of a frown shone on her face, but then it disappeared as soon as it appeared. We all left the room, including me, for I did not want to be there when she discovered the monstrosity on her face.
In the morning we got up early to wait outside her room; waiting for her to wake.
Soon, a scream erupted from behind the door. "Lawrence! I'm going to kill you!"
Lawrence mumbled to James and I (Brookes was still asleep). "I think that's our que to leave. Shall we make a run for it?"
James and I both nodded and we all three started to run right when an angry Haven came barging through the doors.
"You better not run! Come back and fight, you cowards!" She yelled.
Lawrence and I ran hand in hand, while a terrified James stumbled along behind us.
