A while passed while staying with Margret and Lilian. Lilian would fetch water from the well while Uka hunted. Later, Margret would cook the meal and they would eat. This was their new daily routine and Uka was starting to feel like he belonged in Hiat.
Uka was creating a bond with Lilian, who was just a year younger than her and he started to wonder weather he should move on to a different place or settle in the little savanah with her.
Margret however did start feeling uncomfortable watching her daughter build a strong friendship with him and he started noticing her glare at him when she thought he wasn't looking.
He was starting to feel a little uncomfortable and unwelcome, but Lilian, with her sweet little heart, convinced her mother to let Uka stay with them. He was helpful and helped with the hunting, leaving Margret to not have to spend much money for meat at the market.Uka was begining to think about starting a farm in the village, he did have the experience but he would have to buy a plot of land first.
Uka decided to talk to the cloak for the first time in weeks, he felt a strong pull to it but always resisted the urge to put it on.
The pull was really strong this time, and though he didnt like to admit it, Uka was a bit scared of its power. And where have you been this past few months? The cloak asked angrily
The cloak's voice boomed angrily in Uka's head and he shook from the force.
"I have been here, in hiat."
And now you are settled down, you will never want to leave and do your duty, as the hero who will defeat Yeg.
"Ah, now i remember why i didn't put you on for a while." Uka grumbled, walking into his little room and shutting the door.
There is no one else that can defeat him and drive these monsters out, you are the only one who can drive them off of Irm.
"And why do you care so much, you have nothing to do with them?" he said, ploping himself onto his sleeping mat.
Because, with these monsters plaguing this land, they weaken me and restrict my many powers. If you drive of these monsters, you will unlock my former powers."And risk my life for it? For some powers i will not use?" Uka was getting annoyed and angry now and wondered why he put it back on, "im staying here where it is safe and that's the end of it!"
He angrily threw the cloak onto the sleeping mat and swore to not put it on again. However, he couldn't bring himself to throw it away or sell it, the pull between them was uncomfortably strong...Seed trotted to a stop far away from Hiat where wild deer grazed. Hopefully he could shoot down a deer or two. The extra meat and deer skin would fetch some coin and margret could make a nice stew with the meat.
Croutching in the grass, Uka pulled out his spear. A deer and her baby were grazing on some grass. Uka decided he would not go for them, the father would be nearby and an encounter with him would end up nasty. Instead he looked at the rest of the heard.
The creatures were hopping up a hill but there was an old one falling behind. I was slow and did not have the energy as the others to bound gracefully forwards.
Aiming his spear a little above where where the dear was going to be in a few seconds, he threw it and it flew in an arch shape, landing directly in it's side. The deer collapsed and Uka ran up to it.
After pulling out his dagger and slitting the throat of the injured animal, he gave a quick thanks to the land then quickly wiped his weapons clean.
Uka lifted the deer above his shoulders, carrying it back to his cart.Uka walked back into his room after giving his catch to Margret to clean and cook. While putting away his hunting equipment that he had been given by Lilian, he noticed something odd.
He remembered throwing the cloak onto his sleeping mat messily, so why was it folded up and neat?
Had Margret been in his room?
If so, why did she only touch the cloak? What did she know about it?
