Seed trodded on at a steady pace, the mood was high Lilian was singing some old songs with him. Uka felt a bubble in his chest while bonding with Lilian, it felt good.
The sun was glowing a gold as it lifted over the horizon, slowly drifting up to it's place in the sky. For once, uka was not worried about what he would find when he arived home. Lilian was beeming, pointing excitedly at whatecer she saw that you couldn't find in the savanah, which was almost everything. Uka often gave a chuckle at her excitment, as Seed started to trot back to his home village, Uka was thinking, nothing could go wrong!
Everything did go wrong.
"Uka! You're back, and so soon!"
"So you picked up this gall real quickly, huh?"
"How was you travels so far? Did you find a good place?"
All the people he grew up around quickly surrounded him, all speqking in a cheerful tone, though all of them were blocking the direction to hiis home. They all sounded off.
Uka felt like he was being jerked and looked to his side to see Lilian tightly holding his arm nervously. He gave her a reasuring smile but he felt himself toppling over.
His old childhood friend fimora toppled over him, embracing him wildly, he pushed her off and she started blavbering quickly.
"Uka, i know we have not talked for ages, but i have mussed you since then!"
"Fim, you saw me only recently before i left!"
"Yet you didn't say goodbye to me!" She said loudly.A nagging feeling tugfed at his chest while everyone was greeting him, "where is my family?" The villagers suddenly hushed, and Uka knew something was up. They were being so odly kind to him because something happened, weren't they?
Fim looked sadly into his eyes and grabbed his hand, pulling him over to him house and he kept glanciing back at Lilian following behind him for reasurance.
The slow walk felt like torture as every positive feeling had left him. As they rounded the corner to him home, he couldn't bare the feeling of unknowingness and soon he got his answer.Ash covered the ground. It wad cold, clearly a few days had passed but he knew what had happened.
His house, where he lived for his entire life, was burned down, no reminents. Even the farms. All burned down, it was just a plain of black sand. Uka felt a lump form in his throat and wanted to cry, but the worst thing hadn't been confirmed yet.
"M-my family?"
Fimora could not answer, she loojed down sadly.
Uka's eyes widened and he sobbed.
