Chapter 20: Awaited Tournament

3rd Person POV:

Both Y/N and Aiden are seen staring daggers at each other as the two are left in an tense silence against one another.

Y/N: Aiden...you... shouldn't be lazing around when we need to train for the tournament!

Aiden: (yawning) Not in the mood for training, besides you can handle most of the work when the tournament starts.

Y/N: I'm not going to do everything for you! We're a team and I'm the leader so you should-

Aiden: (looking down at her with an agitated expression) Should what?!

Y/N: (downcast) Y-You should...

Aiden: I don't have to do a damn thing. Everyone saw our fight against that Grimm that Ironwood's forces couldn't take down.

Aiden: We were the one's to do it, so none of the competition shouldn't even think about facing us. (eyes burning brightly with power) Just let our fear do all the work Y/N. You may be the leader of this team but you're nothing but a weak girl that just got lucky.

Y/N: (attempting to stand up for herself) I'm not! I'm... I'm...(getting teary eyed before falling to her knees in defeat) I can't do it!

Aiden: (snapping out of his bully act and pats her head to comfort her) I'm sorry! I didn't mean to take it so far there.

He continues to comfort her as the argument was simply an act of training for Y/N to gain more self-confidence for herself. The pair are seen enjoying a cup of tea with each other in their dorm room.

Y/N: (gently placing her tea cup down with a downcast expression) Sorry.

Aiden: It's nothing to apologize for. I'm actually surprised by how much progress we've made since you first asked me to do this.

Aiden: Before you would give up and let Hanari handle it the moment I talked back to you. Now, you almost stood up to me and was about to put your foot down.

Y/N: You really think I've improved?

Aiden: It hasn't even been two weeks and you've gotten to this point. I'd say by the end of the month you should be able take it even further.

Y/N: T-Thanks Aiden.

Aiden: It's no problem, we're partners and with all the training exercises you've set up for the tournament it's only fair that I help you out a little.

Y/N: Right. So, is your family coming over to see the tournament?

Aiden: I wish, my parents usually have very busy schedules and told me they wouldn't be able to make it.

Y/N: Oh...

Aiden: It's not that bad, they also said they'd watch our match through the video feed and since Faith's team isn't going to participate in the tournament she told me she'll cheer us on.

Y/N: She really is amazing.

Aiden: Right, so how has your love life with Team RWBY been?
