Chapter 1

It was an average day for John, wake up at 6:00 am sharp, shower, put on some clothes then walked to the bridge. "Cortana update please?". "Right away Chief". John sat down on the commanders chair(which was made especially for him) and looked out the window into deep space. Outside he saw the enormous Delta Halo his fleet was stationed at. "All fleets are green and ready to go" Cortana said. "Good" John simply replied. They had been stationed to protect this Halo Ring as they moved it to another galaxy. The Galaxy they were moving the Halo Ring to was G5U7, G5 as in Galaxy 5 and U7 as in Universe 7. "Prepare for Slipspace jump". "Got it all ships and Halo Ring entering Slipspace in 3...2...1...entering". John felt the slight shake of the ship as it opened up a portal and entered the alternate dimension. "How long till we reach our destination?" John asked, " 30 minutes Chief" Cortana replied. " John felt his neural lace beep, he opened up a message through his neural lace.

MISSION REPORT

Spartan-117 you're mission is being modified. Prepare you're fleets and the Delta Halo for long term deployment.  You're mission will be to move the Delta Halo to {REDACTED} along with your fleets and set up a permanent observation post for future operations. You will receive limited supplies as you are in unknown territory. Your location will be on the border of the Triangulum Galaxy, where the UNSC has several planets colonized. Your goal is to observe the local government but you may NOT interfere with any of the events. The Delta Halo will be temporarily attached to your fleets for the duration of this mission. Remember this is a observation mission do not interfere.

After he read the report he closed the message and said to Cortana, "Cortana reroute our coordinates to the Triangulum Galaxy. Also switch our FTL from slipspace to hyperdrive according to the local FTL method". "Redirecting route..." Cortana started, the fleets and the Halo exited slipspace. "Entering hyperspace" She finished. The fleets and Halo entered Hyperspace. "ETA?" John asked "20 minutes Chief". "Good set up a conference with the Admirals I need to inform them of our new mission". John walked out of the bridge and beamed himself to the conference room where the rest of the Admirals were waiting for his arrival. As soon as he arrived the Admirals all stood up in sync and saluted "Sir!". "At ease" the Admirals all sat down. "Sir may I ask as why we were all called here" a Admiral asked. "Good question and I'm getting to that." John willed the message and mission briefing onto the projector "Our mission as changed and we are being relocated to the Triangulum Galaxy. Our mission there will be to observe the local government but not interfere. We will have the Delta Halo temporarily attached to our Battlegroup. We are to set up a permanent base for further operations, Any questions?". "Permission to speak?" a Admiral asked. "Granted". "How long will this mission be?". "The mission time will vary but know that it will be a long term mission, any other questions?" No one spoke up "Dismissed" John said. The Admirals stood up saluted then beamed away. 

--Time Skip--

The fleets and the Halo dropped out of hyperspace. "Cortana send out the probes and begin a scan of this and the surrounding systems" John said. "Right away Chief!" She replied. Hundreds of stealth probes were sent throughout the systems. "This system contains 5 gas giants, 1 desert planet, 2 garden worlds, and a uninhabitable planet. The 2 garden worlds have only just begun to have single celled organisms. What is interesting is that the 2 garden worlds are almost identical twins, which is almost impossible without a third party interfering in the development of this system. There is a 98.87% chance for the Precursors to be involved." Cortana said. "We'll worry about that later meanwhile set up a base on both planets. But do make sure that it does not interfere with the planet's natural development. And also begin setting up stealth early warning outposts in the other systems. Begin the construction on the Stealth ODP's and scatter them around the system." John ordered. "Sending out orders... Done," Cortana replied. The sentinels were activated and began the reconstruction of the pre-built ODP's. While others went to set up the bases on the garden worlds careful not to let radiation leak or anything dangerous on the planets. The last group began setting automated early warning systems disguised as asteroids in the surrounding systems.
