3rd POV

"Get moving! We don't got all day!" an officer shouted as military personnel were seen running around. Some were carrying weapons, others were holding helmets and in a flight suit. Engineers were seen making last-minute repairs and updating systems on the fighter jets. Missiles and ammo were being loaded onto the fighter jets. Bombers were being loaded up to the brim with bombs and other essential equipment. Vehicles were moving around bringing cargo and personnel to their destinations.

The jets began to get into position. One by one they took off into the skies ascending above the clouds and forming into a v formation. The bombers soon took with more following in pursuit. The sky was dotted with a couple hundred planes as they all flew to the horizon.

"Squad leaders report in"

"This is Gold Leader standing by"

"This is Red Leader standing by"

"This is Echo Leader standing by"

"This is Blue Leader standing by"

"This is...

The leaders of the squadron began reporting their status

"Alright boys and girls, here's what's gonna happen we are to delay the Decepticons' descent on  Chicago, destroy any fighters and provide air support to the boys on the ground. All squads you have your objectives move out!"

Hundreds of fighter jets approached Chicago which currently had several massive ships hovering above it. From far away it appeared to be calmer, but once the pilots approached they could see the chaos occurring with smoke creating a large cloud of ash and skyscrapers collapsing left and right. The alien ships were shooting down anything that so much as twitched and civilians who were like ants were running amok trying to seek shelter. From the pilots vantage point, they could see the backsides of the soldiers who were pinned down by the Decepticon barrage.

3rd POV

William Lennox was not having a good day, damn the government he thought to himself, damn them for their mistrust. How could they not see the threat? It was right in front of their eyes for God's sake!! Decepticons were shooting up the city and the Autobots were nowhere to be seen. A cannon blast flew inches past his head barely missing him.

Cursing he shouted into his radio "WHERE IS THE GOD DAMN AIR SUPPORT??!!". But no response came, the Decepticons must've set of and EMP and now nothing was working. Lennox looked over from the beat up car he was using as cover. He saw a Decepticon slowly approaching with its cannon raised, clearly having learnt its lesson when it saw its fellow Decepticon getting blasted to bits by the Abrams. Lennox had no more ammo, his army issued dagger now twisted into an unrecognizable form next to him, idly he wondered how that came to be.

As the Decepticon came closer and closer to his position Lennox could only see his life flashing before his eyes. He saw Sarah and Annabelle thinking how he'll never be able to see them again. He saw hid childhood, his parents everyone he ever knew, every memory, experience he had gone through. He felt bitter, after all those hardships he'd gone through both before and after he met the Autobots, he would be killed as a result of a fucking traitor. As the Decepticon raised its cannon to his position behind the wrecked car, Lennox closed his eyes, as if seemingly accepting his fate. All noises in the immediate vicinity dampened, Lennox thought about what death would be like, would it be like heaven? or would it be like hell? Hell, would he even know he died? Lennox heard the cannon pouring up, he took one last breath befo- Suddenly a loud, familiar sounding noise was heard, Lennox's eyes shot open as he saw the Decepticon roar in pain collapsing to the ground, unprepared by the sudden assault. Looking up Lennox had never been so happy to see one than now. An A-10 Warthog soared past him, its GAU/8 Avenger producing the oh so familiar BRRRRTTT sound that came with it as it fired, shredding the Decepticon to pieces, leaving no room for dispute on its current status as KIA. The Warthog and shot up showing its majestic underbelly with the jaws of the shark acting as death's messenger to anyone who dares to cross it.

Lennox didn't care if he was on a battlefield or not, he stood up and began to cheer, arms flailing as he shouted in jubilation. As if the Warthog understood him, tilted itself slightly to the right, acknowledging the Lieutenant Colonel. It then shot past him, heading off to deliver more freedom to anyone who feels the particular need to be "liberated" from "oppression". It was then Lennox finally managed to get a good look at the devastation that surrounded him. Crushed cars stacked up on top of each other with lampposts lying all over the cracked street and a bunch of random things scattered across the entire block. In the background he heard the sounds of more explosions.

A roar was suddenly heard in the sky, it sounded like thunder, looking up he a stream of smoke in the sky. Then a loud explosion sounded signaling that whatever it was had hit its mark. Suddenly hundreds of these streams followed suit, his eyes widened at the sight of what exactly had been fired, it appeared to be a missile! His eyes traced the missiles as they soared to the Decepticon flyers that were in the air reigning chaos on the soldiers with a fiery vengeance, looking back to that day, Lennox could've sworn he heard the sound of a wrathful eagle, shrieking as it swooped in for the kill. The Decepticon flyers attempted to make evasive maneuvers, however it was ultimately futile as if it wasn't going to be one missile that makes contact then it would be the literal hundreds that would.

They never even had a chance.

The Flyers were completely decimated with the once rulers of the sky taken down by eagles that hunted them down like prey. The roar became closer and closer with the first jets making their appearance above the horizon of Lake Michigan.  If Lennox could, his eyeballs would be popping out of their sockets at the beautiful sight that came to be. Hundreds of Fighter Jets of all types were flying in formation. In an awe inspiring moment that shook him deep into the core of his very being, he finally felt the true power of the air force. Numbly, he wondered how in the name of God did the Air Force manage to mobilize so quickly and with so many numbers to boot? Did they summon the entire god fucking damn Air Force??!! A second volley of missiles detached themselves from the underbelly of the jets, and shot towards their targets, promising great pain to the enemies of America. While the Decepticons had missiles that came with their frame, even they would be unable to shoot down hundreds of rapidly approaching missiles that were seconds from becoming their executioner. Humanity had come down to rain hell upon her enemies and there was nothing they could do to stop the tide.
