Chapter twenty-four

I lay in bed with Shawn, only holding hands. "So, you guys were at the mall to buy a ring yesterday? For Nash?", He asks, breaking the silence. Before, the only noise came from Sherlock on tv.

"Yep. Cam just jumped right in. I think it's romantic. They're both old enough, neither of them wanna lose each other, it's clearly perfect", I reply. Shawn nods in agreement and let's go of my hand, just to cuddle up to me. He kisses my cheek and I smile.

"I think it's romantic too. And I know Nash is going to say yes but...", he pauses but shakes his head. "Never mind". I look at him weird. "I don't know about Nash's parents... I'm sure it'll be fine though. He does plan on asking them, right?".

"He asked Hayes.. well, I asked Hayes. And Hayes said he was totally on board, that's all I know. But I'm sure he'll ask them. He isn't that careless. At least I hope not", I say, my eyes focusing back on the episode.

"Ya know? I feel bad for being so young sometimes. What if you wanted to propose and get married super soon? I'm only 16", he says, also looking back at the tv. I look at him and he looks back at me with sadness in his eyes.

"Hush. I love you and always will. I'm in love and always have been. I don't care that we can't get married. You have a lot going for you anyway and you don't need another thing to worry about", I reply. I grab his face and press my lips to his. "I love you".

"I love you too", he whispers, reconnecting our lips.

A couple of hours later I wake up from a nap and look around. Oh look Shawn's naked. Ha. Who could have guessed? God we're sluts. I hear a pounding on the door downstairs and rush to put sweat pants on. I run downstairs and open the door.

Cameron stands there, tears running down his face. "I asked for Nash's family's blessing", he says. "T-they said no".
