*sigh*
"Another day passes, and what am I doing? Still moving crates..."
You had remembered reading all of those 'Isekai' stories in the past, usually of a loser main character getting another chance at a much more fulfilling life upon their death in the real world. It was a favourite staple of yours, the concept of being whisked away from your pathetic life and somewhere you would be more appreciated was always so tantalising an idea to you. A secret hope of yours that you dreamt for every night.
Then imagine your surprise when that truck came out of nowhere and was heading towards that little kid that was running across the street to chase a fallen ball that had snuck away. And, in what might have been the only impressive thing you had done your entire life, you had run out into the street and pushed that little child out of the way from the speeding jaws of death... only to be hit by them yourself.
Apparently, some almighty power had taken pity on you or had, for some reason, deemed you worthy of the reward you craved most, as the next moment after your immediate death had you not found yourself high up in the skies, amongst the clouds, above a city that looked very different to the one you used to live in. Now barrelling down to the surface at a scary speed. Fortunately, you had played many a video game in your pathetic life, and you just happened to find yourself above a large body of water, extending your arms out in front of you to a point, so as to not have too big a profile when breaking the water... and yet if it wasn't for the nearby dockworkers who saw your falling in, you'd have most likely drowned due to the crippling impact diving into the sea at that height had caused.

After your arrival here you had to spend several weeks in care to recover from your injuries. The entire time, you had some inkling as to what had happened and where you now were, but it wasn't until you were fully discharged and had stepped outside that building... that was the moment when you knew beyond a doubt that you were actually in Liyue, a city in the game you played all the time in your old life: Genshin Impact!
At that point, there were two things you wanted to do: to find out exactly where you were in the timeline of events; so as to figure out who you could meet and what events might soon transpire; and then also to meet some of your favourite characters in the game.
Of course, you didn't want to seem like a crazy person, spouting off things like that might get you in a heap of trouble. And could talking about such things land you in trouble with deity that had allowed you a new life here...?
It wasn't worth the risk, you decided, and so you simply ignored all that you knew of the events transporting in Liyue, whether future or past, and you tried to carve out a new life for yourself...
Except you couldn't.
You couldn't afford to buy a weapon to go out adventuring like you had always dreamt of, and even if you could... you weren't that strong or fit in this body that you brought over from your old world, not enough to reliably kill any of the monsters of this world, except maybe the slimes.
And so, you put a tiny bit of your game knowledge to use, and joined a team of miners. At first you just went with them and mined where you were told. But then later, once you had become a regular to these guys, you started recommending places that you knew ores could spawn in Genshin Impact.
