Xinyan x Selective Mute Reader - pt. II

<A/N: Of all the characters in Genshin Impact, Xinyan is definitely my all-time favourite of the bunch. She's a great character, I love her abilities, and the lore that's tucked away and is yet to be shown in-game is really quite sweet. So, for her birthday, I saw it fit to make sure the next part of her little story in this book was continued. And I hope you'll enjoy it!>

* XINYAN'S POV *

Today's been a real fun day, what with the big meet up we had! Xiangling, Beidou, and all her crew just rockin' out and having some good food aboard Beidou's old ship of hers: the Alcor.

All the action today really tuckered me out, it has. I'm glad that I thought ahead of our plans today and decided against hosting a performance in the Harbor tonight. I'd be totally spent before the end of it, plus, I gotta look after myself too, if I use my voice too much like that I could end up strainin' it and such – and that'd be no good for nobody!

Although today has been a real blast, I kinda wish I'd managed to convince that quiet new friend of mine to tag along... Y/N. I'm sure Beidou and Xiangling would take a fancy to them, Y/N seemed like a nice person after all. 

But... well, I guess maybe thrusting you into such a situation wouldn't have done you much good huh!

I was now back in the Harbor, with Beidou dropping me and Xiangling off before the Captain headed back out to the open sea, and Xiangling had headed back to her restaurant for the upcoming dinner rush.

But me? I'm just strolling through the Harbor, enjoying some time to think before I head home for the night and cook up something for supper. I was trying to be subtle about it, but I was really keeping an eye out for Y/N. I'd kinda like to have another chat with them, they really piqued my interest after all! 

And, well... everyone deserves a friend or two, right?!!

It had been a good half an hour or so, since I started wandering around the streets of Liyue. There was no sign of 'em, unfortunately... But hey, at least it gave me time to wind down and just relax, plus I picked up the groceries I'd been meanin' to get lately too!

I was just walking back from my trip to Bubu Pharmacy, with my new weeks subscription of herbs to alleviate the stress and pains in my throat, and I suppose I should probably call it quits and head back home for supper... although, ever since I left the pharmacy, I feel like I'm being watched... is it a fan or...?

Xinyan: "Hey-a, Hu Tao, is that you?"

???: ". . ."

Xinyan: "No? Huh, must be someone else then... Come on out, would ya? I don't bite!"

???: ". . ."

Xinyan: "Hmm..."

Guess I should just keep walking, see if I can catch them out? Of course, I probably shouldn't head right home. Not until I've either found them or lost them... Of course, it might just be a fan of my shows who's just wanting to talk or something like that, but I'd really appreciate it if they weren't hiding out of view whilst they built up the courage or what have you!
