When darkness return

Chapter 7

Delphi was in the kitchen preparing a big cake. Summer had arrived and Bella and Tori had recently turned twelve, so now that they were back from Hogwarts they decided to throw a proper party for them.

"Where did you put the napkins?" Dom asked.

"They're still in the grocery bag", Delphi said.

"Gotcha", Dom said and went to pick the napkins up. "Our guests are on their way."

"Already?! We said one o'clock!" Delphi pointed out. "Shit I need to change. But the cake."

"Leave it to me", Dom said and took over. 

"Okay, but NO sprinkles! It turned out they're not vegan, and no one can see the cake before it's served", Delphi commanded.

"I've got this. Now go and change."

Bella was finishing the table in the garden by placing her written name tags in their places. Most importantly she placed Tori between herself and Lily, and Dora on her other side.

"Oh, didn't know you had name tags", Delphi said when she came out in her new summer dress, matching her silver and blue hair and revealed all of her tattoos.

"I see the dress fits", Bella said. "You look pretty badass, mum."

"I see it runs through the family", Delphi said and hugged her daughter. "Sweetie pie, how can you grow so fast?"

"Now where's the birthday kid?" they heard the familiar voice of Teddy's, along with children running around.

"There she is", Dora said who stuck out her head from the backdoor.

"Dora!" Bella ran up to her for a hug.

"Happy birthday a couple days late", Teddy said and handed her their present.

"I could take that", Delphi said. "I'll put it on the presents' table."

Later on Tori and her dads arrived as well, as for Rose and Polly, and the girls' grandparents. Lastly, Lily came over with her children, including baby Lola. Louis and James couldn't make it there so instead James sent a birthday card that came with a photo of him and his adopted dog, Patty, taken by Claire.

"They're too adorable", Tori said looking at the photo. 

"Looks like where table partners", Draco said to Harry as they looked for their seats.

"That's right", Bella said who overheared them. "Tori's told me you usually avoid sitting next to each other so I say it's about time."

"The lady has spoken", Harry said and took his seat.

They served the dinner before it was time to open their presents, and later brought out the cake filled with candles. Everyone sang Happy Birthday and the birthday kids blew the candles out at the same time.

In the middle of everything Lola started shrieking.

"Was I really that bad?" Albus joked and pouted.

Lily snorted. "That makes to of us", she joked back and started breastfeeding her baby.

"Are you excited for your second year?" Dora asked.

"Oh please, we just went for summer break", Bella said.

"I'm just glad we'll meet our friends again", Tori said.

"Second year was pretty chill", Dora said.

"Wish I could say the same", Lily said in which Albus gave her the look saying not now.
