after the earthquake the eris and druig didn't think much of it. they quickly repaired any damage done and got back to their normal routine.

it was now mid day and eris sat on the table in the chapel. druig was talking about his plans to build more homes when the hairs on eris's arms stood up. her head shot up to the door as druigs face scrunched up.

"looks like you'll be meeting my family." he stated as his eyes glowed gold. eris stayed in place as druig walked up to the door. she decided it was best to stay there and for druig to find out exactly why they were there.

"i missed all of you." he said as he walked out the door. "please make yourselves at home."

they all followed druig inside staring at eris. she knew that they must have known who she was and wondered why she was out here with druig. she sat patiently as druig leaned up against the table, exactly like the day they met, and rested his hand on her knee.

the beautiful woman that eris assumed was sersi started telling druig the news. she could feel his body tense as he learned of the lies that he had believe his entire life, especially when he heard the news about ajaks death.

"you've given me a lot of bad news in one go, my lady." druig said.

"will you help us?" sersi asked with a soft and pleading look.

"i am glad that-" druig started but was interrupted by lizzo playing off of sersis phone.

"good song." eris couldn't help but mumble with a small grin making druig chuckle.

"do you all remember this forest? beautiful.
it was the last place we all lived together.
i've protected these people for 20 generations now from the outside world and from themselves. your kind, my friend, you will be responsible for your own extinction one day." druig said while walking over to the man with the camera. "don't you think?"

eris tried her best to get into druigs head but it was no use. she wanted to tell him to relax and listen to what sersi was saying but it was impossible to get into an eternals head.

"i think we must learn from our mistakes and do better, sir." he replied confidently to druig making eris smile. "you must not give up hope."

in a blink of an eye druig controlled him to throw his camera at the wall.

"oh no you didn't." kingo jumped up and got into druigs face. eris frowned wanting to speak up and help but she couldn't as she didn't have a dog in the fight.

"okay new rule, no more possessing peoples valets." kingo said looking pissed that his camera was broken.

"oh where is your sense of humor kingo?" druig mumbled while looking up to his brother.

"i'm sorry sir."

"don't apologize it's not your fault." kingo replied to his valet and turned back around to look at druig. "you are not a god you know that right?"

eris smirked knowing that got druigs gears going.

"how ironic. kingo, the movie star." he smirked and eris couldn't help but think 'god that was hot'. they continued bantering back and forth until the man against the wall cut in.

"let's go he's wasting our time." he snapped and eris knew immediately who he was. druig had told her about the cocky ikaris.

"we need him." sersi called out to ikaris but druig stopped him in his path.

"ikaris i missed you." druig said eyeing up ikaris and eris was now bouncing her foot nervous how this would end. "are you gonna charm me or threaten me?"

"i mean, there's a third option if you prefer that." ikaris said giving him a challenge glare.

"it must be heartbreaking to find out you're not mothers favorite." druig poked and stepped a little closer to ikaris.

"i'm sure she'd be real proud of what you've been up to." ikaris mocked back causing both sersi and eris to stand up.

"druig." eris said in hopes to warn him to be careful. she never took her eyes off of ikaris making sure he didn't hurt her druig.

"druig, this is serious." sersi said pleading once more. his eyes never left ikaris's and he continued with their stare down.

"i'll tell you what's serious. i've just been told i've been sent on a suicide mission for the past 7,000 years, and that my entire existence is a lie. so, excuse me for not giving a shit about your plan right now." druig said storming out of the room. eris sighed as she glanced around at all of the eternals.

"druig sucks."
"he does sir"

"and what are you doing here? did the avengers ditch you? oh that's right they're all dead." ikaris said stepping in her path. her eye twitched and she had to take deep breathes. she smirked while glancing up to him.

"no actually i'm just here trying to figure out some personal stuff. but it's nice to meet you too ikaris." she said leaving out the part about her being an eternal. the new found information made her question if she could have been a rogue eternal and if a celestial erased her memory from before. but she pushed that aside and left to find druig making sure to bump into ikaris's shoulder although she would much rather it be his face. she found druig sitting on his porch with his head in his hands.

"hey i'm sorry i left you in there." druig lifted his head seeing eris. she shook her hand and head letting him know it was fine. she sat next to him in silence waiting to see if he wanted to let anything off his chest.

"this must be confusing for you too." he mumbled grabbing her hand.

"don't worry about me." she shrugged leaning her head against his shoulder. "what are you going to do?"

"you know you're better than me. you dropped everything to save half of the universe, hell you tried sacrificing yourself." he exclaimed causing her to wince slightly. he gave her a sorry look and she slightly smiled letting him know it was ok.

"what i'm trying to say is that i left because i couldn't stand to watch humans hurt each other, i still can't. now they come back to tell me i did this all for no reason?" druig scoffed and set his head in his hands.

"it doesn't have to be for no reason. we can at least try." she said softly while rubbing a hand up and down his back. he glanced up looking at her small smile. he grabbed her chin and pulled her close.

"we?" he whispered causing shivers to run down her spine. eris wouldn't let druig fight alone. she knew the eternals were hurting and she wanted to help so that their love for this planet wasn't wasted.

"where have you been all my life?" he chuckled pulling her chin to lock his lips with hers. he was consumed by her smell of vanilla and the small hand she placed on his cheek. she pulled back to say something but was interrupted by a loud crash.

"damnit."
