07; YOU SAY YOUR FEELINGS HAVEN'T CHANGED BUT PUSH ME AWAY ALL THE SAME
the seasons are changing as the twilight soundlessly fades into an unforgiving dusk. i find myself struggling in the confines of a fever dream. all around me the wallpapers melt into the floor, i remember this scene from my biology class two summers ago. with trembling hands i swallow my pride in the shape of an unpeeled pomegranate but it grows limbs and tears my body inside out. i ask you why is it so hard for you to ask me to stay (isn't it ironic? we'd worship that word like religion before) but you keep talking about distance and longevity while your voice falls like desert sand onto the cheap filter paper of science lab beakers. oh, did i tell you? i have stopped keeping my curtains open to see the night sky because you've stopped wishing me goodnight.
