Oriane Firehelm knew this was a bad idea. When Gandalf had approached her several weeks ago asking her to accompany him on a quest to help the future king of Erabor reclaim his throne , she thought him mad. Until he mentioned that Galadriel had foreseen her aiding the company.  She couldn't refuse then. Not even if she wanted to. It seemed that her destiny was tied to the dwarf king. How or why she didn't know all the knew was that once the future had been revealed it couldn't be hidden once more. Dismounting from her noble steed Eclipse, she patted his nose and fished a sugar cube from her pocket.

" Here ya go . Your such a spoiled brat." He blew air into her face and she laughed. He nudge her shoulder   Which she took as encouragement.

" Yeah yeah I'm going. Pushy horse." She moved to the door taking a deep breath and knocked. She heard silence then stomping feet and a muffled . " this better not be another one!" The door swings open and her eyes land on a hobbit. " Oriane Firehelm at your service."

" You're a dwarf." He states

" Obviously master Hobbit. I'm  a dwarrow dame." I roll my eyes at this and proceed to enter.

" My names Bilbo Baggins." I smile at him.
" Nice to meet you. Now where is the old grey wizard who conned me into coming?"

I ask as I place my over cloak on a hook.

" Ah Oriane you made it." I cross my arms and tap my foot.

" you sir Wizard are a conniving , manipulative old man who is playing a dangerous game!" I yell at him.

" But my dear if you'd let me ..."

I throw my hands in the air
" Then go  ahead I'm waiting." I stare him down and he looks every where but at me.

"Oriane?"
I look to see my uncles Dwalin and Balin.

" Uncles!" I run to Balin and hug him fiercely.

"what are ye doing here lass?" Asks Dwalin.

" I'd like to know as well." I look back to see Thorin Oakenshield. I step away from Balin . I walk up to him and say

" Apparently, I'm to help you on this quest to reclaim Erabor you highness. The lady Galadriel foresaw that for this to succeed you will need my help." He scoffs and curses in Khuzdul.

" I will not allow you to come. A dwarrow dame belongs at home to tend to her family." I cross my arms and stare him down.

" uh Thorin, she's Rohan Firehelm's daughter." Says Balin
His eyes widen at this revelation.

" why did your father not tell me of this when we met last."

I slyly smile at him.
" Probably because he has no knowledge of me being here."  I hear a few chuckles to my left.

"I will not allow you to...." He begins again. I Riase a hand to stop his speech

" First of all, you are neither my father nor my betrothed. Second of all I have a mind of my own . And third , either way I will be accompanying you on this quest. Destiny has intertwined our fates. And she is a cruel mistress." I say solemnly.

" Lass has a point Thorin." Says Bofur. He just glares at me a few moments longer.
" Give her a contract." He grits out

I smile at him in victory as Balin goes to write up another contract.

" What can you do lass?" Asks a young dwarf with honey colored hair. I smile at him and say " I'm a healer. As well as an excellent swords woman and archer."

Eyebrows raise at my revelation.

" Yes, I taught her well." Dwalin pats me on the shoulder. I roll my eyes at this and push his hand off. " I believe you had a small part in teaching me." The others laugh at this. Balin comes back over  a short time later.

" I don't like you coming along but if your determined ...

" Don't forget stubborn uncle." I say in jest

" aye and stubborn then we will do everything we can to protect you. Now go ahead and read over the...." I grab a quil and sign my name before he can finish.
" Well, Oriane Firehelm welcome to the company of Thorin Oakenshield."
