Chapter 12: Light Beyond Darkness

I was exhausted. I was hurt. I was breathing heavily as I continuosly walking. I remembered that I didn't kill all the corpses behind me. It was a horde of corpses, I can't kill all of them. Now, they're just following me. But they're so far away. There's no way they can catch me. But on my condition, it's possible. I was struggling to walk. I was holding my left ribs with my right hand, showing that the sledgehammer really hurts. I don't know if it broke my ribs, because it hurt so bad!
Uughh. Voices that came out of my mouth as I struggle to walk. I was completely out of my mind that I decided to run. Not long after, my ribs hurt, hurt a lot. I crumbled to the ground, holding my left ribs, barely standing up. I tried getting up. It was difficult but I managed to get on my knees. Not long, I heard voices coming from a distance. It's like... They're shouting. I couldn't clear put what they said, but I know they're shouting. It's like... The voices of Empress and the others!

EMPRESS

We're walking towards the designation point where Chris told us to go. We're pretty close. Not long, we arrived at the building Chris told us to. It's like a boutique. It has walls of glass, transparent . As I can see from outside, it has supplies, but only a few is left. Chris told us to go inside, so we did. We arrived at the front door.
Chris told us to wait here. I said. I sat down in front of the door. And so is Saira. Shauna and Kaylyn stood up still. We consciously wait for Chris to get back at us. *yawns* I'm exhausted. Saira said.
Me too... I uttered.
I'm hungry. Shauna uttered.
I'll just go here inside. Kaylyn said as she entered the boutique. Unfortunately...

The alarm system of the boutique goes on.
Shit! I said as I panicked.
What did you do, Kaylyn? Shauna asked Kaylyn in a panicked way.
I just opened the door! Thats it! Kaylyn explained to us, panicking too.
We have to get out of here! I said to them. The corpses are attracted to noise!
Not long enough, corpses started appearing from nowhere.
Shit! We're screwed! I shouted in fear. C'mon! Let's go!
Where?! Saira asked me, shouting while looking at the corpses coming right at us. The alarm's still on. We don't really know what to do. If Chris was here...
Yes! We just have to think like Chris thinks!
Okay, so the walkers are beyond the road, in the boutique, and some came out of the forest. I explained. We just have to go back, find Chris, and make plans when we get there! I added.
Okay... Saira uttered.
C'mon! no time! Let's go! Shauna shouted at us. We went back to the road, went back to the direction of Chris.
It's no use of running! Chris can't kill all the walkers there! We have to fight too! I explained, in fear, approaching us.
Are you serious!? Kaylyn made sure.
Yeah! I'm dead serious! I convinced them. Okay, here's the position: We form a line, strike them once, but make sure that they're dead once you hit them, and advance. Got it? I explained to them.
Got it! Everyone said. So we formed a line, formed our fighting stance, and once the corpses reachd us, we strike them in the head. This was going smoothly for several seconds, unfortunately, Shauna was overwhelmed by three corpses going once on her.
AAAAHHHHHHH!!! Shauna screamed as they crumbled down onto the ground.
Shauna!!! Saira shouted as she went to her to rescue her. Our formation was destroyed. I just killed random corpses.
HAAAAAAA! I shouted as I kill every corpses that comes in my way. I killed many corpses as I can. Saira is doing everything she can to kill them, so is Shauna and Kaylyn. We were working together.
Keep it up, guys! We can survive this! I encouraged them to keep them going. Everything went smoothly as planned. But it is not enough. The alarm's still on. It kept attracting corpses! Corpses coming from nowhere! We were overwhelmed! We don't know what to do! Then, appearing out of the forest, corpses was on our back! We're cornered!
Shit! What do we do? What do we do? I said in fear. I can see Saira and others. They're trembling out of fear. The corpses were now just a meter away from us. We couldn't struggle more. If Chris were just here....

Suddenly...
HAAAAAAA!! I heard a shouting man. I heard something crumbled on to the ground. I opened my eyes... It was... CHRIS!

CHRIS

Empress!! Are you okay!? I asked Empress.
I-I'm okay... Empress answered, happily.
Saira, Shauna, Kaylyn, you alright? I asked them too.
Yeah we're alright. Saira answered
Yeah... Shauna's a bit hurt, though. Kaylyn answered too. Shauna was ashamed to tell it. I put a bandage to her foot, encircling her foot with white bandages. It was enough.
I'm okay, now, Chris. Let's go! corpses are all around! Shauna said, panicking.
C'mon let's go! I know a place where we can hide from 'em. I said.
Where? They all asked.
Just follow me! C'mon!
I led our group to the forest, where there's a shed where we can hide. After a seconds of running, I found it.
C'mon, quick! hide here! Saira, you go first! I said, hurrying. Shauna, you go second. Shauna went in. Kaylyn, now go! They all fit. But there's not enough space for us.
What're we gonna do now? Empress asked.
We're going somewhere else. For now, Saira, Shauna, Kaylyn, do not make any noise. If possible, don' breathe. You have to be very quiet. Understood?
Yes, Chris. Saira uttered.
Let's go, Empress. I said
Okay. Empress answered.
We started running, running away from the shed. The corpses saw us, but we lost them as soon as we ran away. Seconds of running, I found a tree, which has a space under the body of the tree, like a cave.
Empress, here. I said as I held her hand, grabbing her at the three. I let her went inside first. Then I went in too. We perfectly fit together. My body's very close on hers. When I look up to her face, Empress was already looking at me, a bit blushing. I still gazed at her beautiful face, that I forgot that we were chased by a horde of corpses. Luckily, They didn't find us. They just passed us. But when I look back to Empress again, she was still looking at me. I looked back at her. She flashed a blush. I smiled. Then, without a seconds hesitation, I grabbed her face, closes my face to hers, and kissed her lips.
