"What's that thing?" - Empress
"I don't know. Stay back, just in case." - Chris
I approached the man, slowly. Its looks are so disgusting. It has bumps all over his face, body, and arms. I crouched, unholstered my dagger. Then, suddenly, a vent nearby a store emitted a white smoke, a steam probably, and made a hiss-like sound, and it was loud. The "thing" in front of us faced the vent, then sprinted towards it. Quickly.
Whispering, "What is he doing?" - Saira
"Shhhh, stay back" - Chris
The "thing" stopped in front of the vent, then, unexpectedly, it exploded, unleashing its juice all over the place. And I saw a rat, covered with the juice-thing all over its body.
"Oh sh*t! Look! The rat's body's melting!" Saira said while slowly walking towards the rat
I looked around, looking for something to test with the "juice". Then I found a plastic wrapper. I picked it up, then slowly leaning towards the "juice" and I dropped the wrapper in the pile of "juice" watched. The wrapper melted, leaving no clue of the wrapper.
"Yeah right. It's acid. We gotta be careful out here now. Those Suiciders maybe be out there somewhere. We have to stay alert. Let's go." - Chris
We continued walking. Outside the village, the mart is located just in front, across the road. The mart is huge. Enough for us to survive for 2- 3 years, If we're lucky. We arrived, entered the mart.
"Now, where, is the supermarket section?" - Chris
Saira pointed the place. "There" - Saira
"Let's go before someone get there first." - Chris
We continued. Surprised because of we saw earlier. Somehow, I managed to keep calm and stay alert. Well, Just glad that nothing happened to us. I'm seeing that we'll encounter them again. Sooner or later.
I went to the foods section. Grabbed snacks and foods. Almost Everything eligible to eat. Saira and Empress grabbed the water and some other liquids that we can drink.
"I think this is enough" - Saira
"Yeah, we gotta go back to the house. Let's call it a day. We can go back here tomorrow, right?" - Empress
Yeah, I think so. Let's go. I have to fortify our house in case of overwhelming walkers come by." - Chris
We headed back home. Killed a bunch of walkers on the way. Then went inside the house. I started barricading the windows, the fence, and the gate. I think it's pretty good. I set up a small wiring system around the house. it's like an alarm system. A bell, which I found at the supermarket, is the one I used for the alarm system. I connected a string on one end to another end, making it look like a tripwire. I tested it out. For the love of God, it worked. the bells rang. That way, we can be alerted when someone comes around the house nearby. Empress and Saira was impressed.
"Oh my God, Chris. That's some serious wiring skills!" - Saira
"Glad we have you on our side, Chris."
"Oh, it's nothing. I just learned that from the internet a couple of weeks ago. And I didn't know that it would work the way I want it to be" - Chris
It was getting dark. I checked my wrist watch. It was 6:00. I grabbed our foods for our dinner. Rice and snacks. It was enough for us. We need to save it, we need to conserve it. Then, darkness came. We had a nice conversation. Conversations of our pasts, events and random craps we think of. I let them sleep early. I stayed up late to protect them. I went outside, thinking of what to do next. Along with the cold breeze of the wind, silence was all around me. I came up with a stupid idea.
It's morning. I woke them up. I told them my idea.
"I'm going to my house" - Chris
"Let us come with you" - Empress
"No. It's too dangerous. I can't afford to lose you." - Chris.
"Be careful out there, Chris. You never know what you may encounter there" - Saira
"I will. As soon as I get there, I will head back to you." - Chris
"Okay, bye, Chris" - Empress
"Bye" - Chris
I waved my hands, and salute to them as I walked away. I saw the look on Empress' face. She's worried about me. I have to survive this journey, for Empress. I can't die. I won't. As soon as I exited at the village, I heard footsteps. It's like running towards me. So I unholstered my hidden blade and look back, fighting stanced. But all I saw is Empress, running towards me. Before she reached me, I asked her "What's wrong?" She didn't answer. As soon as she reached me, she didn't stop. She hugged me. I was shocked. I hugged her back tight.
"Come back, okay? Chris?" - Empress
"I will. For you. I'll be safe. Don't worry." - Chris
I hugged her tight as I can. You never know when will this happen again. So she headed back home, I headed towards our home, which is far from what you think. The houses I encountered were easy to climb. Perfect for parkour. I know how to parkour. But i didn't want to exhaust my energy because maybe I need it when the time comes when "walkers" came after me. I never know what will I encounter there. Then I heard this footsteps again. It's not running towards me, It's sprinting. I, again, unholstered my hidden blade. Looked back then fighting stance. I saw a different kind of undead now. It's fast. I should run. RUUUUUUUUNN!!!!
