Chapter 14: Close Encounters

We were walking. Awkward silence accompanied us, until Eric broke it off.

So Chris, tell me, how'd you survive all this? Eric asked me, with hand gestures, but confused.

What you mean? I asked back, as I was confused on what he's asking.

I mean, that, how'd you get all this stuff? Look at your weapons, compare it to ours. Yours looks... Amazing. Eric explained as he gazed on my hidden blade.

Uhh... You mean this? I asked as I lifted my hand and showed it to them. Ahh this is nothing. I just created it. I explained

Ahh well, that's a great invention you got there. Craftings. Eric uttered. Very useful. He added.

I let out a smirk. Then, I suddenly felt someone held my right hand. It was Empress.

I looked upon Empress.
Why, Empress? I asked her, wondering. Is there something wrong?

Ahh--uhh, nothing... Just... Just get on with it. She explained to me as she looked away.
Ahh, okie! I replied with a smile, but still wondering what's going on.

We just continued walking. Silence accompanied us again. But on the bright side, we found new survivors, who'll help us survive this nightmare.

It was 5:30 when we got back to the mansion. Luckily we arrived here before sun set. Things go bump in the night, you know?
Anyways, I went first on the gate, and opened it.
Alright guys, go in. Suit yourselves. I said to them as I held the gate for them. Eric and Carla went in. They were together. And not long, Karin was slowly entering the gate. The I noticed that she's looking at me, more like staring, but a little head down. I looked back at her, confused. She suddenly turned red, then looked down fast. She looked panicked. Don't know what's wrong. I didn't do anything. Anyways, Saira, Shauna and Kaylyn went in together. They were inseparable, even earlier today, they were altogether, I don't know what they're talking about as if they were gossiping. But nevermind that. At last, Empress entered the gate, looking at me. I looked back  smiling. She let out a smile too. I touched her lips with my lips, but only for a quick second. She let out a smirk, I gave her a smile. I closed the gate, locked it with a heavy metal chain I found on the way here. I wrapped it on the gate, looped some ropes in the chains so they won't be separated. The gate's locked, and me and Empress went in together

I saw the new faces, wandering around the house. I just found my self a sofa, and layed down there. I removed my bag, full of supplies and my weapons. I put them beside the sofa so I can easily get it.

I closed my eyes for several seconds, I opened it up again to see where Empress is. I opened my eyes, look to my far right, then again, I saw Karin looking at me again. When she saw me look at her, she looked surprised, then looked away fast, like a panicking stance. I wonder what's going on.

Then I saw Empress, coming towards me. When she reached me, she layed down beside me, and hugged me. I don't know what's going on but I like this, so I hugged her back. We were face to face, faces close to each other. We just cuddled, ignored everyone. Empress turned her back against me. Now we were facing the same direction. She then looked at me,
Hug me. She said as she looks at me
Ahh okay. I said. I did what she told me to do. I hugged her. I don't know what's happening, but, I just hugged her. I like it though.

It was 7:30 when I checked my watch. Saira made dinner. Everyone ate dinner, but I just remained on the sofa with Empress.

Hey, Empress. I said as I hugged her more tight.

Yes, Chris? She asked as she held my hands, which is hugging her body.

Are you not going to eat dinner? I asked her as I kissed her cheeks.
