Taeyong walked inside the, as usual, chaotic class, looking for someone. Of course that someone is none other than Jaehyun himself.
But he didn't see Jaehyun. Maybe he's late? Yeah, he must be late. Taeyong nodded to himself and walked to his empty table in the corner, keeping his bag in Jaehyun's place.
Taeyong sighed and leaned back on the chair, gazing at the ceiling above. It's going to be difficult for him without Jaehyun if he doesn't come. His English did improve a lot but he still needs help.
He almost dozed off to sleep but the bell had to ring, bringing him back to reality. He glanced at the door from where a teacher entered and then at his seat beside, there was still no Jaehyun.
Thinking he might be sick because of which Jaehyun didn't come, he took his book out of his bag and tried his best to understand everything the teacher said and explained.
Once the bell has rung, the teacher went out again and the chaos in the class started. He decided to use this time to ask from Johnny and Ten about Jaehyun.
He stood up and walked to where they were in the corner, talking in whispers and looking worried. Ten noticed him coming towards them, so he suddenly changed his expressions and talked loudly about a football match, his boyfriend following the same.
"Hi!" Taeyong waved at them with a smile. He was indeed curious as to why they changed their expression and probably the topic of discussion after seeing him but he didn't interfere, thinking it's none of his business.
"Hey, Taeyong? Did you write down the notes?" Ten asked him.
"Yeah. But I don't understand half of them, but I'll ask from Jaehyun." He explained, feeling proud of himself for his improved English. "By the way, why didn't Jaehyun come?"
"He's sick," Johnny said quickly, avoiding eye contact.
"Oh.. I'll go and meet him today then," Taeyong said, but he saw Ten's and Johnny's eyes widen for a moment before coming back to normal.
"Uh... Jaehyun said that he doesn't want anyone to meet him because they might also get affected." Ten said, with a suspicious smile.
"Oh... Ok." Taeyong turned around in disappointment but caught a glimpse of them looking worried. Is there something they're hiding from him?
But before he could even get a chance to ask them, their maths teacher has already entered the class and ordered them to sit in their places.
Sighing, Taeyong stepped towards his seat and sat on it, writing down notes. After an hour, the bell rang again and most of the students ran out of the classroom.
Taeyong quietly packed his stuff before swinging his bag over his shoulder and walking outside the classroom by the time no one else was left.
Johnny and Ten will probably wait but seems like they didn't wait today as there's no Jaehyun of course. Taeyong got out of the classroom in the almost empty hallway.
Going down the stairs, there was no sound heard except for his footsteps, until the first floor where a lot of students were going here and there, playing random games, shouting and yelling.
He turned to the right where the cafeteria was and got inside it. He looked around the tables and saw at one particular corner, was his brother, Mark, Johnny and Ten sittings.
Also, there was an untouched food tray on the table too, probably for Taeyong. Donghyuck often gets lunch for him if he ever arrives late.
He went to the table and sat on it, dragging his tray closer to him before digging in. It was awfully quiet at the table, which was hard for Taeyong to accept.
He glanced up at them, who were barely eating their lunch and staring at each other with worried eyes, making Taeyong worry too.
"Is there something wrong?" He asked, but Mark said no and went to shove French fries in his mouth, his eyes... teary for some unknown reason.
"Mark you look you're crying," Taeyong said in a tiny voice and leaned on the table, right in front of Mark.
"It's just the emotional novel I read yesterday," Mark said, chuckling before taking a huge bite of burger. Taeyong sighed and leaned back on his chair, gazing at all of them.
The smile on Johnny's face wasn't there. Ten's eyes looked red and Donghyuck worried eyes were fixed on him. For a moment there, Taeyong felt like they know something terrible, he doesn't know.
"There's something wrong... isn't it?" Taeyong asked in a whisper.
"Just missing Jaehyun," Johnny said with a blank expression and chewed on his lettuce.
"C'mon, he's only sick! You guys are making it look like he's going to die."
Ten hurried up from the table and went to who knows where and Johnny cleared his throat loudly and kept eating and Mark dipped his french fries in milk, acting as if he was doing some scientific research.
Donghyuck removed his gaze from Taeyong to his lap.

Despite of Ten warning Taeyong that Jaehyun doesn't like visitors, Taeyong still decided to come to Jaehyun's house to check upon him.
His concerns and worries increased more after seeing his friends and brother acting so weird.
"If they're trying to hide something from me," Taeyong muttered to himself furiously and pushed open the gate, "then do it in a better way! They're literally making it obvious."
Taeyong shook his head and walked up to the door, knocking on it. But no response came. He knocked again, no response. But then he heard footsteps coming from behind him.
He turned around and saw an unknown man standing there holding, um, well, a grass shear, yes those scissors like things used to cut grass.
"Who are you?" The man asked in a deep voice.
"Uh– I'm Jaehyun's friend," Taeyong replied, taking some steps back.
"No one's at the house right now, come some times later on." The man said and walked away towards the patches of flowers to cut grass.
Taeyong let out a sigh of relief and dashed out of the gate.
