Bucky was sat in the living room, reading. He wanted a little break, and decided getting lost in a good book would be the perfect way. It was all going fine, until he heard the faint sound of music from the kitchen.
He let it be for a few minutes, knowing it was just Sam playing music. Nothing out of the ordinary, aside from, upon further concentration, the fact that he didn't recognise the song. It didn't sound like English, and he couldn't understand the language. He turned back to his book, trying not to get distracted. That got harder once he heard Sam singing along to the song, and he couldn't help but turn around.
"Sorry I'm an anti-romantic.." Sang Sam, he then hummed the rest of the lines. Bucky couldn't help but grin, his singing was so cute. His book soon became forgotten as he watched his partner sway around the kitchen and hum to the song. Most of the song was in a language Bucky couldn't understand, and he guessed Sam didn't know it either, hence why he was just mumbling words.
He was sure he must've been gazing at him with the most loving look you'll ever see, because when Sam turned and saw him, he smirked, but continued what he was doing. Bucky just continued to watch him, it was a good a distraction as any. When the song had ended, Sam walked over to him, a spatula in his hand.
"Are you just gonna sit there and watch me all day?" He teased, raising an eyebrow. Bucky scoffed, getting up from the sofa. He walked round it and back to Sam.
"Well now that you've said it.." He said, a smile coming onto his face. It quickly turned into more of a smirk.
"I'm sure you'd love my help in the kitchen. Right, darling?" Bucky said, grinning more when Sam's expression turned to one of dread. He sighed, putting his hands on Bucky's hips as if to steady him.
"I don't know how to break this to you gently," said Sam, "but you can't bake."
Bucky rolled his eyes, and Sam shook his head."No no, you really can't. You can't cook either. You're a disaster in the kitchen, James Barnes." Continued Sam, and Bucky pulled him closer, wrapping his arms around Sam's neck.
"I really wanted to help, sweetheart." Said Bucky, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Sam's neck. Sam rolled his eyes.
"I know what you're doing." He said, an eyebrow raised. Bucky smirked.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, love." He snickered, knowing that his plan was going to fail. Sam scoffed. Bucky pulled him closer, almost stumbling into the back of the sofa.
"Why d'you wanna help in the kitchen so much, James?" Asked Sam, his tone sceptical. Bucky grinned.
"Cause you're in it, Samuel." he said, and Sam laughed. Bucky wrapped his arms around Sam's waist.
"You're unbearably charming." sighed Sam, resting his forehead against Bucky's. Bucky sighed, the grin still on his face.
"I know."
