heyyy I know it's been a while 😅 I was busy over Christmas, and then I just haven't had many ideas to write. But I'm here now :)

"Wait.. so Sam is your boyfriend?"
"Husband," corrected Bucky, taking a sip of his drink.

Shuri's eyes widened.
"Since when?" she asked, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

Bucky scratched the back of his neck, looking into his glass.
"Last night." He said, looking over at her, then back at his glass.
Shuri gaped at him.
"Wait, so you ran off and eloped with Sam Wilson and didn't tell anyone?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. She leant her elbow on the counter.

Bucky laughed, thinking about everything that had happened last night. It brought butterflies to his stomach just thinking about it.
"Well, I'm telling you now.." Bucky said, unable to hide the grin on his face.

Shuri grinned back at him.
"Oh my god, you really love him, don't you." It was more of a statement than a question, but either way Bucky just chuckled and put his face in his hands.
"Yeah," he mumbled into his hands, and Shuri laughed at his embarrassment.

"So why'd you come here to tell me instead of inviting me over, and more importantly, why didn't you bring Sam?" She asked, finishing her drink.
Bucky gave her a look.
"We don't have a house. I have my apartment and he has his, besides, we're at his sister's more often anyway," he said, moving his gaze to the window.

He really wanted to ask Sam to move in with him, and he didn't think it was an outrageous request at all, seeing as they just got married. But they just hadn't had time to talk about it yet.

"Right, that makes sense, but why isn't Sam here?" Shuri pressed, swirling around the ice in her empty glass.
Bucky sighed.
"He's busy, y'know, being Captain America," He said.

Shuri's eyes lit up.
"Oh yeah! The suit turned out good, right? Doesn't he look irresistible like that?" she smirked, and Bucky blushed, turning away from her.
"That is not what the suit is for, it's supposed to make him look cool, not hot," said Bucky, mumbling the last part. "But he does look hot.."
Shuri laughed.
"I'm glad you think so, I'd say I did a very good job," she said.

She hopped up from the stool she was sat on and made her way over to the fridge.
As she did, Bucky's phone began to ring. He pulled it from his pocket to see who was calling, and when he saw it was Sam, he immediately jumped up.
"I've got to take this," he said, walking away to leave the room.
Shuri raised an eyebrow, a smirk on her face.
"Alright, lover boy." she called back at him, making his face go red.

Bucky picked up the call, and was immediately greeted with Sam's voice.
"Hey, darlin', you still with Shuri?"
Bucky's heart fluttered, and he couldn't stop the smile that came onto his face.
What was this man doing to him?
"Yeah," replied Bucky, leaning against an archway.
"I'm nearly done with this, so I can be over in half an hour, that okay?" Sam sounded tired, and Bucky wished he didn't wait half an hour to see him again.
"Yeah, perfect," Bucky replied. "I love you, Sam, I hope you know that."
Sam laughed from the other end of the phone.
"Oh god, I love you too. So much."

They said a few more things to each other before ending the call.
Bucky hated it every time, the end of it. He wished he could talk to Sam forever and never have to stop.
They hadn't seen each other since early this morning, and Bucky had been craving his touch all day.
All he wanted to was lay with Sam in his arms, and talk to him for hours.

"Was that Sam?" Shuri asked as Bucky came back into the kitchen.
"Yeah," said Bucky. "He said he can come over in half an hour."
His heart was beating loud, he couldn't wait to embrace his husband.
"Perfect, I've got a few more technical things to give him as well. And then you guys can tell me the whole wedding story!" she said, and Bucky's face went red.
"It wasn't a proper wedding," he said. "That's kinda what elopement means."

Shuri rolled her eyes.
"Do I look like I care whether you got married in a dumpster or on a tropical island? I still need the details." She took a sip of her refilled drink, giving him a look.

Half an hour took a long time.
Of course it did, Bucky was so anxious to see Sam again that every minute felt like an hour.
So when the half hour was actually up, Bucky tried to contain his excitement, but Shuri could tell that he couldn't wait til Sam got there.
A few seconds later, she got the message that Sam had arrived.

The two of them went outside to greet him, and there he was, still in his Captain America suit, which Bucky wondered about. He had time on the plane journey to change, surely.
But that thought didn't occupy his mind for long, as soon as his eyes met Sam's, he ran forward and embraced him. They wrapped their arms around one another, Sam burying his face in the crook of Bucky's neck.
They didn't say anything for a few moments, they were just savouring the time they had to just be in each other's arms.

Sam pressed a kiss to his neck before looking up again.
"Hey," he said softly, caressing Bucky's face.
Butterflies erupted through Bucky's stomach, and he laughed, a grin coming onto his face.
"Hey," Bucky said in turn, his hands on Sam's waist.
"I missed you. A lot." Said Sam, smiling at him.
Bucky averted his eyes, his face turning red.
"I missed you too," he said, before looking back to Sam. "I really missed you."
Sam chuckled, and Bucky pulled him closer.

"Don't go off on a mission right after we get married next time, please." Said Bucky, leaning in closer.
Sam blinked.
"What do you mean 'next time'? You're not filing for a divorce already are you?" He said, a light tone in his voice.
Bucky rolled his eyes.
"No, sweetheart, I couldn't imagine a reason to want to divorce you." He said, leaning his forehead against Sam's.
Sam smiled.
"Well that's good," he breathed, closing his eyes.

"Hey, Sam!" Said Shuri, and the two of them abruptly broke apart, much to Bucky's dismay.
"Hey, Shuri, how are you?" asked Sam, linking his finger's with Bucky's.
Shuri smiled, raising her eyebrows at the two of them.
"I'm great, but I'll be better when I hear your wedding story," she said, laughing as Bucky looked away, his face turning red again.
Sam glanced at Bucky and then back to Shuri.
"Wedding story? Alright then.." he said, chuckling.

The three of them went back inside, and Sam went to change into some clothes. Bucky went with him, and Shuri gave him a stern look, to which he only blushed more.
Bucky hadn't been alone with Sam since right after the "wedding", and he wasn't about to miss the opportunity now.

They went to the spare bedroom that Bucky usually stayed in.
Sam turned to Bucky as he shut the door, his smile was wide yet small, and secret. It felt like a smile reserved for Bucky.
Bucky leaned closer to him, whispering in his ear, "want me to help take off the suit?"
Sam rolled his eyes.
"I'm sure I can manage," he said, kissing Bucky's cheek.
"Fine, whatever." said Bucky, leaning in for a quick kiss before he could leave.
Sam embraced him, closing his eyes and exhaling.
Bucky didn't complain. He wanted nothing more than to be in Sam's arms, and to stay there.

"Shuri will get impatient," said Bucky with a sigh.
Sam pulled away from him, smiling.
"You're right." He said, brushing an eyelash off Buck's cheek.
Bucky smiled.
"Go on then, otherwise we'll stand here all day and wonder where the time went," said Bucky, pushing Sam towards the bathroom.
Sam raised his eyebrows at him.
"Fine, fine! But you can't blame me for wanting to stare into your beautiful face all day!" he said as he closed the door.
Bucky grinned, butterflies flittering in his stomach.
He couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with this man.
