Chengxin sat with all his friends in the school park on a Friday afternoon, conversing about random things like they always did.
“So is anyone up for watching a soccer match with me tonight?” Junlin suggested to his friends.
“Maybe Chengxin.” Yaowen answered on Chengxin’s behalf then looked at him. He was busy on his cellphone with a small smile on his face. “Chengxin? You heard that?”
“What?” Chengxin looked up at his friends.
“Who the hell are you texting?” Haoxiang asked rather annoyed than curious.
“No one.” Chengxin slightly chuckled then continued to text with the small smile. “Oh he’s here!”
“Who?” Zhenyuan wondered.
Their question was answered by Jiaqi walking over to the table with some bags.
“Jiaqi!” Chengxin got up from the bench he was sitting on and hugged Jiaqi.
Everyone looked at the pair in surprise, but Yaxuan was more of disappointed than surprised. He just didn’t feel like saying anything, but he watched the pair with sadness.
“Hey guys remember I told you Jiaqi would join us,” Chengxin told them as he took a bag from Jiaqi.
The boys didn’t say anything. They all looked at him spitefully, except Zhenyuan and Yaxuan who seemed saddened. Zhenyuan actually looked away.
“Hi,” Jiaqi greeted the boys awkwardly.
“Oh hi.” Haoxiang replied coldly.
“Guys,” Chengxin said through gritted teeth. “We talked about this.”
“What’s going on?” Jiaqi asked them in wonder.
“Oh I don’t know, it’s hard to like you when you snatched someone from our friend.” Junlin answered.
“Hey,” Yaxuan reprimanded. “He’s joking. You’re welcome Jiaqi…it’s just how we tend to welcome each other in this group. We act cold at first.”
Jiaqi smiled and walked closer to Yaxuan. “I’m sorry we started off on the wrong foot, I hope we can be friends.”
‘Certainly not’, Yaxuan said to himself, but he nodded nonetheless.
Jiaqi then turned to Zhenyuan. “And you…we’re cool right?”
“Sure whatever you say…” Zhenyuan mumbled and shrugged.

“Chengxin is the most frustrating guy in the world,” Junlin said as he sat down in front of the TV on one of the couches in the school lounge that evening. “I mean is it so hard to understand that your ex-boyfriend doesn’t want to be around you and your new lover? They keep scratching Yaxuan’s wounds.”
“They sure are.” Yaowen replied and sat next to him as they waited for the game. “But he’s not that bad at giving advice.”
“Oh really?” Junlin answered sarcastically.
Yaowen nodded. “He said you and I would make a good couple as opposed to me and Haoxiang.” he shrugged.Junlin looked at Yaowen and laughed. “Nooooo.”
“Well what do you think?” Yaowen asked him seriously.
“You and I?” Junlin stopped laughing and thought about it. “I don’t know…maybe I do kind of like you…”
“Huh?” Yaowen asked him in surprise.
“Are you guys possibly the next couple at this school!?” Ziyi who was behind them asked. He had been eavesdropping the entire time.
“No!” Junlin and Yaowen both answered at the same time.
“Seems like it.” Ziyi laughed and continued to wait for the game. The two of them ignored him, but they didn’t know that Ziyi would soon post about it.
