rome was wonderful this time of the year, but i couldn't do as much as work, work, work while i stayed here.

ashton irwin was in fact staying at a filthy hostel, which was lost in the bad side of the city.

what surprised me the most when we found his room was the clothes that were spurred on his bed and the yellow paper on top of them.

my nostrils flared out of anger at him always being a step ahead. i grabbed the note and read it quickly.

so you still don't know how all those people -who do not deserve to be called people- are connected, right? otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this note right now and surely enough you wouldn't be after me. as you are reading this, i am leaving rome. you don't need to look for me, i am, in fact, going to turn myself in after finishing my... mission.

"he's gone." i crumbled the paper in my hand and turned around to adam. "we still don't have news from the embassy. maybe someone had seen him there, maybe they know where he's headed or maybe he has striked again and we find a dead body."

"i'll call winona to see if there's anything new." adam told me exiting the room, while i stayed behind to examine it closer.

the room was perfectly clean except for the clothes on the bed. i picked up a t-shirt and smelled it. then another jumper and smelled it again.

i closed my eyes, taking in the odor. they were sprayed with cologne. he was trying to cover his smell, but he probably left his clothes here because they were too heavy to carry them along.

i smiled at that and left the room. "so?" i asked adam. i walked up to him and we started walking out of the building.

"winona said that no one confessed to know him and not a single person was missing today. so, zero victims." adam shrugged and i huffed.

"he was looking for information. let's go there. i want to have a one-oh-one with a few people."
