I could've paid, but this is what happened instead. Honestly, I'm the adult here- I should've done something.
Somehow.
"Los Angeles, please," Annabeth told the driver.
The driver chewed his cigar- I was recently taught that term- and looked directly at me.
"You can pay that up?" he asked.
"Yeah, it's definitely-" I began, but Annabeth handed her card to him.
"Casino debit card," Annabeth explained. "Swipe it."
So he did. Infinity appeared on the screen.
"Get us there fast, and you can keep the change," I jumped in.
"Where in Los Angeles?" he asked.
"The Santa Monica Pier," Annabeth answered.
And so the ride began. We talked a little, but it was mostly the trio talking. I watched everything go by, thinking about the chain. I missed them. I began to sleep, while they chatted in the background.
"Time!" Sky exclaimed. "You're back again!"
I grinned, "Missed you. I'm finishing the quest over here soon, so hopefully Hylia will send me back. Though the part about wind makes me think that I won't be the only one coming here."
"Wind?" Sky's expression changed, "Well, I hope that one of us gets dragged with him. I don't want him to be alone out there...or you, for that matter. Come home safe,"
I nodded, "I will."
"Anyway, Fi spoke to me. Here's what you need to know..."
...
"-me!" a voice shot me awake.
"Yeah?" I asked. "Oh."
When Percy returned, he showed the three pearls. At that moment, I knew what was going to happen. I'm going to let them escape somehow, and hopefully, Hylia will do something for me. I'm good with that. They'll be safe.
Of course, the kids knew that, and worried over me. I insisted that it'll all be fine, because it will. My quest has proved enough of that.
Those kids approached us, but I stopped them. They look familiar. Way too familiar. There's no way they were in BOTH worlds, right? Besides, these kids look like they wanted to do bad things instead of good. There was no way.
"Hey! You! Old man!" one exclaimed, in a RED bandana. The leader?
I groaned. Another old man calling.
"Yes....?" I answered, pushing Percy, Annabeth and Grover back.
"Are you their babysister?" One sneered.
"Are you the Bombers?" I countered, "12453?"
There was a long silence. "How'd you know the code?"
"Yeah, how did you know the code?" Percy asked.
"Let's just say I joined a gang when I was a kid," I smiled mysteriously, "Anyway, Bombers, as much as you're okay, we're busy. So go,"
The Bombers scrambled away.
"Easy, done, let's keep on moving! Time's running short," I said.
~~~
We walked inside the lobby. There was a sad atmosphere. Percy glanced at me worriedly, and I squeezed his shoulder. I walked straight to the security guard's desk.
