A/n: Shout-out to @blainemill12 who encouraged me to update this and just want to give a quick heads up; I've used the same year from the last update but in the story a few months have past since then. Just wanted to mention that so nobody gets confused or anything but other than that, I hope you all enjoy!

Chapter 11: Argument
*Year 2273*
John's P.O.V
"Ugh... why me?!?" I thought to myself, annoyed.
I was in the library right now, on my own, working on the extra work I received earlier today from Mr Brotch. Usually, I don't complain about the extra work I recieved, considering the fact that I'm the best of the best in my class and always manage to get a week's worth of schoolwork done within like...
What, two days?
But lately, the work has been stacking up higher than I can get it all done and when I do, it just gets bigger than the last. I had a feeling that dad was involved with this somehow and knowing him, the probability that he wasn't was very low.
Still, I guess it's his way of saying he only wants the best of me but why does it always have to be so stressful?
I sighed, dropped my pencil onto the table and leaned back in my chair, rubbing my tired eyes together. I was currently working on a history project involving about "The Great War" that occured almost 200 years ago now.
I've already studied about the general history of it with the rest of my class but I was to find out as much information as I could about the warleaders who fought in it and let me tell you, there wasn't much info to go around.
I was surprised at first that there weren't many details on the people who fought in the war but then again, all life was turned to dust on that day when the bombs fell.
October 23rd, 2077...
I removed my hands from my dried-out eyes, letting them fall to my lap but left my head hanging back in the air, slipping away into darkness. My eyes grew heavy and my mind started going blank when a felt a pair of hands rest on my shoulders.
"Is there ever a time when you're not studying your ass off?"
I snapped my eyes open to see Amata, as beautiful as ever, with her black silky jet-hair done in a bun, her olive colored green eyes gleaming with affection and a big smile with a mixture of both amusement and sincere painted across her face.
"I could say the same about you sneaking up at me all the time" I replied, earning a giggle to escape from her lips, causing me to chuckle lightly at the back of my throat.
"Aww, come on. We both know you love it..." she said, looking down at me with a pout on her face, before she started rubbing her soft hands against my tense shoulders.
"Damn..." I trailed off, my voice was hoarse and husky like, before my eyes slid closed ever so slowly.
"How does that feel?" she whispered ever so softly down towards me as she continued to rub her hands on my shoulders, feeling slightly better than before.
A low growl was caught from the back of my throat in response to her and even with my eyes closed, I could still see the smirk playing on her face. She continued to move her hands against my shoulders for a while before her arms wrapped around my neck and, not giving me a second to react, brought her lips againt mine own.
Naturally, I kissed her back as our lips moved ever so gently against one another in synchronization. It only lasted for a few seconds before she pulled away, slowly but reluctantly and kept her arms wrapped around me. I opened my eyes to see those olived colored ones of hers, gleaming brighter than before.
