Chapter 2: Kindergarten
*Year 2263*
James' P.O.V
"DAAAAAD" I heard someone scream.
I already knew that it was John, probably wants to get his old man up for god knows what today. I was still laying in my bed, enjoying my beauty sleep or was until the devil himself decided to come and ruin it. I remained where I was, snuggled deeper into the blankets and turned my attention back to sleep...
Until something happened.
I felt someone jumping onto the bed and landed right on top of my stomach, almost knocking the wind out of me in the process. I jumped up into the air and groaned, rubbing my eyes before opening them to see my son, smiling and giggling.
"John, what have I told you about jumping on top of daddy like that" I asked in a firm and tired tone.
He giggled some more before replying "To do it when you don't wakey" in his sweet and childish tone.
I sighed and smiled before I brought him closer to me and rubbed his small back, kissing his forehead in the process.
"Alright, good job tropper, mission accomplished" I complemented him.
"Dad, what's accomplished mean" he asked in a confused tone.
I smiled before remembering that I was talking to a five-year old here before mentally slapping myself to have forgotten that.
"It means to finish something you have started, like waking up daddy" I told him in a amused and irratated tone.
"Oh..well then, Yay" he laughed.
I chuckled before turned my head to my pip-boy to see what time it was...
7:39 am on a monday morning
"Wait a minute, THAT'S TODAY" I exclaimed in my head.
"John, go put your suit on from your drawer over there, ok" I asked him quickly before lifting him off me, placing on the ground.
"Ok" he smiled before running towards the drawer with only his underwear on.
I quickly got out of bed and gave myself a quickly stretch before speed walking towards the living room.
"I've got to get to work and it's John's first day of kindergarten" I thought in panic.
Catherine is going to haunt my soul for the rest of my life if he doesn't arrive on his first day. I got into the living room and opened the fridge to see what was inside.
Let's see....there was a few cans of cram but that's wasn't something for the morning, then there was some fancy lad snake cakes but no way was I giving him that in the morning either.
Some fresh apples and crunchy mutfriut maybe.....no, not enough energy for the first day of his kindergarten program but then I saw it....
Some Blanco Mac & Cheese which I could just heat up in five minutes and it will be ready in no time. I got it out of the fridge and quickly threw it into the microwave before setting the timer.
It started warming up and I waited anxiously for it to end.
I paced back and forth for what seemed like forever, thinking about how stupid I was. I should have set the pip-boy before crashing down to bed after a late night.
