The Secret Door

Chapter 12

"Girls' did you hear that? We have to get to Cackle before midnight, otherwise he will be super strong!" said Lizzy in a very worried voice.

"Come on let's go!" said Jane.

Then they finally came to the throne room. They didn't like being spotted so they hid behind a huge curtain and watched. There were like hundreds of elfish people here and they looked really scared. Then they finally saw Cackle. He was really ugly. He wore a red cape and he had a really big mouth and two big sloppy eyes. He was thin but his face was bigger than his body. And he was really like his name because he Cackled so loud that the girls thought that the windows in the castle might shatter.

Then Jane had an idea. She was always the idea girl. Once she looked at the floor there were that slime like stuff they saw when they crossed the wall. She suddenly took some of that and she threw it at the throne and it hit Cackle right in the face!

"Who did that? Who dare did that? Whoever did it will be punished very hard," said the wizard very angrily.

"Oh Lord Cackle, it was not one of us. We swear it. It may be one of your goblins," said one of the villagers.

"Goblins! Was that you?" he asked.

"Oh never our king! We would never have done that!" said Fiz.

"Well then someone did it," said Cackle and he looked grumpy afterwards.

"Jane, what did you do that for?" whispered Lizzy.

"Come, if we can contact the villagers we can ask them to throw the slime too and then he will run for his life out of the castle," said Jane with a big smile.

"Ok, I know exactly who to signal," said Gaze. She was looking at a small girl who was behind the entire crowd and she was near them too. And then Gaze sent a signal like a small whistle. The small girl heard it very clearly and looked at them.

"Hey we are here to help you. Don't worry. Tell your mother to take some of that slime and get ready to throw them. Tell her to tell the others' too. Got it?" asked Gaze.

The little girl nodded and tugged her mother's skirt and whispered something to her ear. The mother's gloomy eyes lit up at once and she passed on the message to the others. Then at once everyone was ready with the slime balls. Then Jane sent out a whistle. At first everyone was unsure.

But then they hit.

Cackle was looking at his nails when it hit. He was so surprised that he turned his face right to it. And he got one big ball of slime right to his face. The goblins were surprised that they fled. The only exit was the balcony. At once they didn't think anything, but they jumped. Most of them jumped to the trees. But they didn't die. They were just fainted. Then after all of them fell, Cackle was the only one left.
