"Who planted the bombs?" tanong ni Maris

Ngumiti lang si Devon at nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita

Humawak sya sa pader para mapanatili ang balanse dahil umiikot na ang paningin nya. Biglang may brasong yumakap sa bewang nya at kamay na humawak sa braso nya "Damn it... you're burning up"
"Yeah, I think" mahinang sabi nya at bumuntong hininga saka binaklas ang pagkakahawak sa kanya ni Khairro "I can manage"
"Don't be stubborn, Devon" sabi nito at binuhat sya "I'll take you to the ER"
"No....I don't like being hospitalized. Take me home, I'll be fine there" sabi nya
"And who will take care of you? Your butler, Lourd?"
"He's good at everything" sabi nya at hinilot ang sentido
"No, I can do better. I'll take you to my penthouse" sabi nito saka naglakad patungo sa parking lot. Maingat sya nitong pinasok sa shotgun seat at sinuotan ng seatbelt saka umikot patungo sa driver's seat
"I thought, you don't want me to come to your penthouse?"

"Same thing, Khai" sabi nya at pinikit ang mga mata
Ramdam nyang umandar ang kotse at ilang minuto lang ang lumipas ay nasa penthouse na sila ni Khairro. Hinayaan nya lang si Khairro na asikasuhin sya dahil wala syang lakas para labanan ito
PINAGMASDAN NI KHAIRRO ang payapang mukha ni Devon habang natutulog ito. Sinalat nya ang noo nito at nakahinga ng maluwag ng bumaba na ang lagnat nito
Naupo sya sa single couch na nilapit nya sa kama at pinikit ang mga mata
"M-mom..."
Napatingin sya kay Devon
"N-no... d-don't...l-leave....Dad...no p-please..."
Umangat ang isang kamay nya para punasan ang pisngi ni Devon. Hinawakan nya ang isang kamay nito at hinaplos ang pisngi
Ilang sandali lang ay tumigil sa pagluha si Devon. Tinignan ni Khairro si Devon at hinalikan ang likod ng palad nito "It's hard to know all the secrets behind your mask. Like you said, it's your job to pretend and lie...but I hope, you didn't lie to me when we're together before"

Napatitig si Khairro kay Devon "I didn't lie about my feelings to anyone, Khai. You were a job for me pero nung naging tayo, nagpakatotoo ako sayo"

"I missed you" sabi nya at hinalikan sa noo si Devon "I love you, babe"

NAKATINGIN LANG SI Devon habang si Khairro ay nagluluto sa kusina
"Since when did you learn how to cook?"
"After I consulted a Psychologist, he said, I could try something to forget the pain so I found a good chef and he taught me how to cook" sabi nito
Napayuko si Devon at napalunok "I'm sorry for the pain, Khai"
Napalingon si Khairro kay Devon at hininaan ang apoy sa stove. Lumapit sya kay Devon at sinapo ang magkabilang pisngi nito "I love you, babe and it's all in the past so don't feel sorry"
Bumuntong hininga sya "I feel bad"
"Don't be. I'm fine now because you're here"
Kumunot ang noo nya "And?"
"You're my therapy, you cured me" sabi nito at hinalikan ang noo nya
Natawa sya ng mahina sa sinabi ni Khairro "That's corny but I like it"
"Kinilig ka 'no?"
"Yeah" natatawang sabi nya at mahinang pinalo ang braso ni Khairro "Yung niluluto mo"
Ngumiti lang si Khairro saka bumalik sa pagluluto
