The next day, Hinata woke up to Tsukishima staring at him. "Morning." Tsukishima said, "You're finally awake." Hinata groaned and snuggled deeper into Tsukishima's chest. "5 more minutes." he said.
Tsukishima sighed and picked up Hinata in his arms, carrying him to the bathroom and plopping him down on the toilet bowl. Hinata whined, his eyes drooping. Tsukishima passed him his toothbrush, and Hinata unwillingly got up to brush his teeth.
(Timeskip brought to you by me dying from the third week of school)
Hinata seemed to have relaxed a lot more after spending the night with Tsukishima. He wasn't as clingy and looked much happier, much to Tsukishima's relief. They were having a normal day at school, until Atsumu came up to them during lunch.
Tsukishima immediately narrowed his eyes at Atsumu, grabbing Hinata's hand, and turned to face him. Atsumu just grinned and held up his hands. "Woah woah, no need to get all protective. I just wanted to have a talk with Sho-chan." His eyes slid over to Hinata, who had buried his face into Tsukishima's shirt, trying to avoid all contact with Atsumu.
"Geez, can't you do anything other than bother Shoyo?" Tsukishima said, noting Atsumu's use of Hinata's first name. Atsumu fake-pouted and sat down across the table in front of them. "Come on, just a while. You can stay, okay?" Atsumu smirked. "Sho-chan, you can stop hiding. I'm not gonna do anything to you." Hinata just grabbed onto Tsukishima tighter, then shifted his position to hug Tsukishima.
"Now, now, Sho-chan, you're being a bad boy."
Tsukishima raised his voice. "Please leave. Right now. You've got no right to talk to him like that. " Hinata opened his mouth and let out a whimper. Tsukishima immediately turned to him, concerned. "I-I'm fine, Kei. Let him talk. You're here, right?" Hinata said. But his eyes said otherwise. It wasn't convincing at all. He was scared deep into his bones. "Yeah, I'm here." Tsukishima said, squeezing his hand, and letting out some calming pheromones.
Atsumu grinned in victory, which Tsukishima hated. He so wanted to wipe that smile off his face. "Great! See? Sho-chan, it's nothing." He smiled again.
"Now, Sho-chan, I just wanted to tell you that I still care for you. I can't forget the times we had before. We had so much fun, didn't we? I love you, Sho-chan." he said, reaching out to hold Hinata's hand, then retracted them when Tsukishima growled. Then his smile faded, his voice went down an octave. His eyes seemed to go cold and icy. "And I'm sure you remembered what happened then. And it could always happen again."
It was a threat. Tsukishima didn't know what he was referring to, but it certainly had left a lasting impact on Hinata, because his eyes widened and his grip on Tsukishima tightened. The blood left his face, and his hands felt cold.
Atsumu grinned again, as if nothing had happened. Then he got up and left, leaving Hinata and Tsukishima.
"Sho-" "WAIT! Atsumu-san!" Hinata suddenly got up, his voice trembling. Atsumu turned back to look at him. Tsukishima was shocked.
"I - I need to talk to you. Alone." Hinata added when Tsukishima opened his mouth to speak.
"Shoyo, I won't let you -" "It's fine, I promise. Please? Just this once?" Hinata begged. His eyes were glassy. "Shoyo, I can't let you go with him. Who knows what he'll do to you?" Hinata shook his head, almost on the verge of crying. "Please. Let me go." It was a plea.
Tsukishima felt like his heart was tearing apart. Atsumu watched in silence. "Hinata, I really don't want you to go."
"Hey, you make it sound like I'm some bad guy. And he's the one who wants to talk to me, isn't it? It's not like I forced him. Just chill." Atsumu chimed in. Hinata nodded. "He's right. I'm fine, Kei. It's just a while, okay?"
He pulled his hands out of Tsukishima's and walked away with Atsumu. Tsukishima stood there in shock. He felt like he was heartbroken. It felt like Hinata had been taken away from him. Stolen away from him. By Atsumu. When Hinata walked away, it had felt like a silent break up.
But what hurt the most was that Hinata was the one who had chosen to go with him. He didn't understand why. Why Hinata would want to go with someone who had hurt him.
Hinata's POV:
I followed Atsumu to a deserted corner. Atsumu smiled. "I knew you'd understand me." He said. I gulped. I hated him so so much. Yet I was powerless against him. I couldn't let what happened before happen again. I loved Kei. A lot. I couldn't let anything happen to him. Even if it meant breaking his heart. It was better for just one of us to suffer instead of both, was it not?
"What do you want?" I asked, avoiding his gaze. Atsumu tilted my chin up, and tears starting sliding down my cheek. "Now now, don't cry, Sho-chan. I'll make sure you forget all about the pain soon." he cooed.
I moved away from him, using my sleeves to wipe my tears. "I've been waiting for you for so long. Did you know how I felt when you were being all happy and lovey-dovey with your little boyfriend? I was heartbroken, Sho-chan. Don't you think you should be punished for making me feel sad?" Atsumu said. My heart jumped. No no no. Not again. Atsumu grabbed my wrist, and I trembled, struggling to get out of his grip.
"Don't worry. Since it's our first time after our reunion, I'll do it at home, okay?" he whispered in my ear. His pheromones filled the air, and I gasped for breath, the air thick with his smell. I whimpered and dropped to the floor, holding my head as my head started pounding.
"Oh dear, Sho-chan. It looks like you've gotten weaker than before." Atsumu crouched down and caressed me. I shivered at his touch. I panted, the migraine getting unbearable as I felt my vision slowly go blurry. The last thing I heard was Atsumu saying, "It's going to be alright."
