Hinata's POV:
...
I happily chatted with Yamaguchi as Tsukishima was pretty much ignoring us, listening to music again. Yamaguchi stopped talking and nudged Tsukishima. Tsukishima sulked and took off his headphones, but continued to stay quiet. I watched in envy. Ever since Kageyama and I broke up, I didn't really have a close friend like Yamaguchi was to Tsukishima.
"So, Hinata, do you like anybody?" Yamaguchi asked. I blushed and didn't dare to look at Tsukishima. "Uh, not really." I replied. "Are you sure?" Yamaguchi pressed. "Um, maybe? I don't really know myself." Yamaguchi grinned, as if he had caught onto something. "Who's the lucky person? I could help you find out?" I became flustered and quickly shook my head. "N-no it's fine."
I took a sneak peek at Tsukishima, but he just continued eating, uninterested. My heart dropped a little, and I quickly turned back to Yamaguchi, who pouted. "Well, that's shame. I'm pretty sure most people would fall in love with someone like you. I mean, you're pretty cute." I blushed. "Thanks."
I hadn't told anyone that I was gay. Well, except Tsukishima and Kageyama of course. When I dated Kageyama, we had kept our relationship a secret, so nobody knew. I didn't even know how Tsukishima knew. Well, it didn't matter. Tsukishima wasn't the type to gossip. He would keep his secret. Hopefully.
Third person's POV:
...
"Gather around! I have an important announcement to make!" Daichi called. Everyone quickly settled down. "We will be going to Tokyo in summer for a volleyball camp! So make sure to brush up on your skills! We'll give them the best we've got!"
"Osu!"
Hinata grinned from ear to ear. A volleyball camp! That was like his dream! "But, you do realise that we've got exams before summer, right?" Takeda-sensei interrupted. Hinata's smile dropped. Oh, right. Exams. He laughed weakly. Out of the whole team, he was the one with the worse grades. Even worse than Kageyama. If he failed, he'd have to stay back for remedial lessons. Which had to overlap with the summer camp.
Tsukishima smirked. "It must be difficult for you no-brainers to have to worry about your grades constantly." Hinata groaned and tugged at his hair. Then he thought of an idea.
"TSUKISHIMA!" Hinata suddenly said, turning around so fast that he nearly tripped over himself. He clasped his hands together and bowed. "PLEASE TUTOR ME!" Tsukishima was a little surprised by the sudden request, then sighed and opened his mouth to speak.
"Sure! Me and Tsukki were planning to have a study session anyways!" Yamaguchi suddenly jumped in before Tsukishima could reject him. Tsukishima glared at Yamaguchi, but Yamaguchi quickly whispered, "I'll treat you to strawberry shortcake, 'kay?" Tsukishima grumbled. Yamaguchi knew him too well to know how to bribe him. "Fine."
(Timeskip brought to you by me drowning in schoolwork)
Hinata rang the doorbell. He was a little nervous, especially since he had never been to Tsukishima's house before. A blonde male opened the door, but it wasn't Tsukishima (Kei).
"Ah, Hinata-kun, right?" the male said, "I'm Akiteru, Kei's brother. Come on in." Hinata quickly said a greeting. He marveled at how tall he was, though still a little shorter than Tsukishima (Kei). "I'm surprised he invited you here. Usually only Yamaguchi-kun comes here. I'm glad to know he's making friends though!" Akiteru-san said as he lead Hinata to Kei's door. "Kei! Hinata's here!" he called.
There was a few moments of silence, then Kei opened the door. He stepped aside to let Hinata pass through. Akiteru grinned and gestured to Hinata, then to Kei. Kei just rolled his eyes and closed the door in his face, which led to some very loud complaints.
Hinata's POV:
I watched as Tsukishima walked over to where I was seated. "Yamaguchi isn't here yet, so just do whatever you want." he said, sitting down on a chair and looking at his phone. "Um, Tsukishima," I started, but was cut off. "Just call me Kei. It's confusing. "
"Oh. Okay." I opened my mouth, then stopped. Why couldn't I say it? It was just a stupid name. I tensed up and I felt my face heat up. "Um, K-kei." My face exploded into flames. I quickly looked away so that he couldn't see me. How embarrassing! "What do you wanna say?" "Oh, yeah." I turned around, then quickly moved back when I realised that he was squatting right in front of me. "W-what are you doing?" I panicked and asked. "That's what I wanna ask you. Why are you red, huh?" he asked, leaning in even closer. My heart thumped even louder and I gulped. What could I say? That I was embarrassed? I looked away, trying to avoid his gaze. But he pulled my head towards him. "Answer me." I had to obey. "I-I was um, " I tried to swallow the growing lump in my throat, "I just, get this weird feeling whenever I'm with you. I don't know why. I think, I think I like you. " I whispered the last part.
He released me and I quickly looked away. "I'm sorry. I need to leave." I quickly picked up my bag and ran out of his room, nearly crashing into Akiteru-san. My eyes widened. Had he been eavesdropping? He reached out to hold me, but I just ran past him and out of the door.
I continued running and running, trying to ignore the thumping of my heart. "Shoyo you idiot. Why did you say that?" I scolded myself. Then it started to rain. "What a great day." I muttered to myself. I stopped running, feeling my heart thumping loudly, not from my embarrassment, but from running. The rain poured on me, with only the sounds of my breathing to accompany me.
