"You bet that I wouldn't get away? What kind of friend are you?!" Korra snapped at Qin.

They were in a interrogation room, both sitting with their wrists cuffed and with metal that was attached to the table in front of them. So they weren't going anywhere anytime soon.

"Firstly, I'm not your friend and second I'd be the friend who's not an idiot." Qin answered with a sigh as he stared up at the ceiling.

"Well if you had helped, we wouldn't be in jail now would we?" Korra grunted out as she leaned back, placing her boots on the edge of the table. She was trying to slip her cuffs off by force.

"Well sorry, not my fault I'm trying to avoid causing trouble. I already got enough problems with the lady who runs this place. Adding resisting arrest to a long list isn't something I'm willing to do at the current moment," Qin said as he deadpanned the girl.

"You must of done something really bad to her then." Korra said, her teeth clenched as she strained against her restraints.

"Firstly stop doing that your gonna dislocate your wrists, and I'm not taking you to a hospital," Qin stated, "Second I didn't do anything to her, at least in my book."

Suddenly the door slid open revealing a woman, Korra quickly sat up straight in her chair normally trying to make it seem like she wasn't doing anything. While Qin merely let out an annoyed sigh as he just looked to the side.

The woman was middle aged with light skin, pale green eyes, and gray hair. A pair of scars resided on her right cheek, she was dressed in the Republic City style police uniform, and at the moment she was looking down at a clipboard withs some papers.

When she looked up, there was this steely disapproval in her eyes when she looked at Korra. Qin wished that's what he got, because he received nothing but cold silent rage. Their wasn't a doubt in Qin's mind that she knew exactly who the both of them were.

"Let's see, multiple accounts of battery, not to mention resisting arrest," She said mostly glancing at Korra before she slammed her clipboard on the table, "You two are in a while mess of trouble."

"But there were some thugs threatening to beat up a innocent shop owner and-" Korra started though she didn't get to far.

"Can it! You should have called the police and stayed out of the way," She cut Korra off, not caring what she had to say.

"But I couldn't just sit by and do nothing. It's my duty to help people, see, I'm the Avatar," Korra said, trying a new approach and hoping to worm her way out of this.

Qin only rolled his eyes, she was about to learn real quick that the 'Avatar' title wasn't gonna get her far in here.

The woman crossed her arms and looked unimpressed. "Oh, I'm well aware of who you are. And your 'Avatar' title might impress some people, but not me," She said, Korra tensed up realizing her approach had failed.

"Alright, fine; then I want to talk to whoever's in charge," Korra said, trying to get someone more reasonable to talk to.

"Your talking to her, kid." Qin said, making Korra look at him wide eyed. "Meet Chief Lin Beifong."

Lin's eyes seemed to narrow as he spoke, but took a seat in the chair across from them. Korra instantly looked stunned at the revelation, while also realizing something.

"Wait, Beifong? You're Toph's daughter!"

"What of it?"

"What of it? Why are you treating me like a criminal? Your and mother and Avatar Aang were friends, they saved the world together," Korra explained. "And also this guy." Korra shifted her eyes over to Qin.
