𝓞n her way to her first period, Karissa spotted Farkle running into the janitor's closet and quickly shutting the door behind him.

She went over and opened it enough to pop her head in. "Farkle?" She spoke softly so as to not startle him.

At the sound of Karissa's voice, Farkle's head whipped toward her. He wanted to tell her to leave so he could be by his lonesome, not wanting to talk about what happened. Yet, Farkle remained silent as he watched Karissa fully enter and grab a chair to sit next to him.

"Do you want to talk about it, cry, or just sit here?" she questioned, puzzling Farkle. Karissa had absolutely no idea what was going on, but she didn't even ask what it was. She knows Farkle enough to know he clearly isn't ready for that and won't push him. "We can do whatever you want, but I'm not leaving you."

Looking at the girl and listening to her simple words made tears begin to well up in Farkle's eyes. Though it was a bit dark, Karissa was still able to tell and instantly hugged him tightly while he started sobbing into her shoulder.

And she just let him cry it out. She rubbed his back comfortingly and whispered reassuring affirmations in his ear.

After a while, Farkle was just sniffling. He slowly pulled away from Karissa and as he did so, she grabbed his hand and laced their fingers.

He took a deep breath before lowly admitting, "Someone made fun of my turtle necks... and how they make me weird and how I'm the biggest nothing in this school. He said I had no right to walk around acting all confident and pretending like people liked me. He said I had no right to have friends like you because I was the biggest nothing in this school... Karissa, why are you my friend?"

Karissa didn't even seem surprised by the question. She just answered it without hesitation. "I'm your friend because you're amazing. I'm your friend because I love who you are. Farkle, you are one of the best friends I have ever had in my life. You care about me so much and you notice little things that nobody else does. You're loyal to a fault, you're funny as hell, you're such a fun person to be around, you'll do anything for the people you love, you always try to make your friends happy because you truly want them to be happy, you're such a good person. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. You will never, ever be a 'nothing' in my eyes. You'll be everything, always. I am so, so, so sorry someone made you feel like this. I love you so much, Farkle."

Farkle stared at Karissa with wide eyes. While his heart warmed at her incredibly sweet words, he was more focused on something else.

"You're crying."

Karissa's brows pinched together in confusion. "What?" Bringing a hand to her face, Farkle wiped a tear away with his pointer finger that he continued to hold up and show Karissa.
