Chapter 9: Lexmas

It's Christmas Eve and Liana's at the Kent's decorating the Christmas tree with Clark. Liana smiles and says, "There. She's perfect." Clark looks at Liana and says, "Yes, she is." Liana smiles and kisses Clark. They pull away and Liana grabs Clark's hand and says, "It's usually just me, Lana and Nell at Christmas. With lots of tinsel, and an artificial tree. Thank you, Clark, for saving me from another plastic, store-bought holiday." Clark nods with a smile and says, "You're welcome." As they're about to kiss again they hear Jingle Bells and it's Clark's ringtone. Liana smiles and says, "Tell Chloe Merry Christmas for me." Liana walks to the kitchen.

Meanwhile in Lex's dreamland Lex's is with his son Alexander and he sees Clark and Liana. Lex says, "Clark? Hey. Oh, you have no idea how happy I am to see the two of you." Liana says, "Are you a father again?" Lex says, "Uh... no. Not yet. I was just..." Alex then goes to Clark and says, "Uncle Clark, Uncle Clark, make me fly!" Clark chuckles and says, "Hey, I missed you, little guy. Come on. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately. Things have been crazy at the 'Planet.'" Liana looks at Lex and says, "Yeah, don't let his, uh, things have been crazy line fool you. He's been promoted." Clark says, "Yeah, now I'm a full-fledged reporter." Liana smiles and says, "I've got some pretty big news, too." Lex says, "Okay." Liana smiles and says, "My book's being published in January." Lex smiles and says, "Wow. That's, that's great." Liana says, "Yeah, they love the idea of a LuthorCorp expose a complete with an anonymous tell-all source. Thank you so much." Liana gives Lex a big hug whispers in his ear, "I couldn't have done it without you, Lex." Clark looks at Liana and says, "Alright, miss, did I mention that my book is about to be published? Let's get our tree and get out of here." Liana smiles and says, "Bye, Alex. Bye, Lex." Clark says, "See ya, Lex. See you tonight." Clark holds Liana's hand and they both walk away.

Later, Liana's at the Kent's for the party and opens the door and says, "The party can officially begin. The Luthor's are here. Merry Christmas, Lana." Lana smiles and says, "Merry Christmas, Liana." The sisters give each other a hug. Liana looks at Lex and says, "Lex, Merry Christmas." Liana gives her brother-in-law a hug and he says, "Hey. Merry Christmas." Liana then closes the door and goes to find her husband." Mr. Kent says, "Everybody, grab a drink. Come on, grab a glass. Listen up here. Now, uh... Ladies and gentlemen, I have it on very good authority that this year's Kansas Humanitarian Award is going to be given to our very own... Lex Luthor. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... Lex Luthor. The Finest man I know." Everyone cheers and claps for Lex. Later, Liana goes outside to see Lex talking and Liana smiles and says, "Who are you talking to?" Lex says, "No one. Or possibly myself. I really don't know anymore. I guess I'm just feeling contemplative this evening." Liana says, "Yeah, well, the holidays will do that to you." Lex chuckles and Liana sips her non-alcoholic champagne. Lex says, "You know, my life hasn't turned out at all the way I planned. And yet, I've never been happier." Liana smiles and says, "Lex, you have a wonderful life. And every reason to be happy. You have a beautiful wife, great son, a baby on the way." Lex says, "Something I still can't quite believe. Me and Lana. Now, how the hell did that happen?" Liana smiles and says, "Well, you became the kind of man she could love." Lex smiles and says, "Thanks." Liana nods and says, "I'm so happy for you and her. I can't wait to meet my little niece." Lex smiles and says, "Me too." Mrs. Kent comes and says, "Lex, come quickly. It's Lana. Come on." Later, in the real-world Liana's passing out milk to the guests at the Kent farm. Mrs. Kent says, "Look, everybody, it's snowing. Oh, we are gonna have a white Christmas. Everyone goes outside to see the snow and Clark brings Liana to his side and says, "Merry Christmas, Liana." Liana smiles at Clark and says, "Merry first Christmas together, Smallville. The first of many." Clark wraps Liana in a side hug, and they have happy smiles on their faces.
