Mykel and Etheines mission would be too far to walk on foot, so they salvaged a motorcycle, and with the help of David, sped off to the scrapyard.

To make extra precautions, they attached a metal spike 2 feet long to deter anything in their way. It was Vermonts job to remove the bodies piling up on the spike. Etheine was driving. He learned this from David during the night.

As they neared the scrapyard, they heard gunshots. Alot of them.

"Lets pull over for cover" Etheine said to Vermont. He nodded in agreement.

They pulled over an alleyway near the yard. On first sight, it looks like the dead surrounding the area. But it was actually survivors, still in their uniform unknown to them, holding assault rifles. They were shooting anything coming at them.

"How are we going to survive that?" Vermont whispered, pointing at the students. "We gotta get in somehow, grab a white cloth and wave it, it signals that you are not hostile." Etheine said.

Vermont got his tattered school uniform, put it on a stick, and waved it. "Thats good" Etheine said. "We gotta approach carefully, though. They might kill us"

Slowly, they approached the yard. The guards took notice at them, pointed their guns at them, and shouted "What school are you from?"

"St. Peter. You?" Vermont shouted. "St. Jude here, man, come closer, we wont shoot" The guard said.

They followed what they asked. When they got nearer, the students greeted them, and they greeted back.

"So, what brings you here?" The guard said. His name is John. About the same age as ours. He was holding a rifle. They guessed that he was the leader, from the looks of his friends.

"We wanted to check out the scrapyard. We have a bus that needs reinforcing before we continue." Etheine said.

"Really? A bus?" John said. "Well, its ok for you guys to check it out. But we have an offer. Get anything from the yard, but you take us with you" He said, pointing at his friends, who were 6 in total.

"I have to ask our friend, but I guess you guys can go with us" Vermont said.

"Thats great news. But I think you need our help. You see, the reason we are outside is because the place indside is not so inviting" John said.

"Why do you say that?" Etheine said. "Well. Before this happened, the owner of this place loved dogs. He kept guard dogs everywhere in this place. One of them probably got bit, and well, you know what happened" John said. "Half our group already died indside. We arent risking another entry without getting our limbs ripped off our sockets. You guys look like good warriors, want to help us?"

"I guess we could help you guys" Etheine said. "We just need a plow and-" John cut him off, saying:"Oh! as we were running out, I noticed a plow. Looks dented, but I guess still usable. What else do you need?"

"Um, metal bars for the windows and thats pretty much it" Etheine said.

"We could rummage for some, Im sure there are some indside. So lets start, shall we?"

One of the guards pushed open the door. The yard was silent. For now. One by one, they entered the compound.

John retraced his steps to where he noticed the plow. After a few minutes of walking, backtracking, and circling around, they found a plow. It is a bit dented, but otherwise alright.

They also found metal bars in equal length scattered around the compound as they were searching the place.

"Lets grab the plow and get out of here" Vermont said.

It took 3 people to carry the plow. The moment they lifted it, they heard a loud barking noise coming from the distance.

"Hey, did anyone get anything here before?" Vermont asked. "We got the assault rifles. Why?" John said.

"Cause the dogs know" Etheine said, pointing to a pack of dogs coming in from a distance.

"We gotta hurry" John said. With the plow now being carried by 4 of them, and the pile of metal bars, they ran as fast as they can towards the exit.

The dogs were unimaginably fast. They heard a guard scream "Get out! Ill hold them off!" We heard gunshots for about a few seconds, then there was silence.

"Damnit Mike!" John said, cursing. "That will buy us a few seconds, lets hurry!"

They were about 50 feet from the exit when they saw the dogs again.

Far away, they looked like normal dogs, only  they were starved. Up close, the dogs were so ugly and disfigured that it is wrong to describe it here. Let us just leave it to that.

The dogs, came, but did not strike. One of Johns friends who was carrying the plow let go, and started shooting the dogs.

He managed to shoot down about 5 of them before the dogs pounced of him.

The sight was scary. The dogs bit and opened up the guts of the guy, spilling it all over the floor. It looked agonizing as the guy was still screaming, then went limp and died.

The guy gave us time to exit the yard. Apparently, the dogs stopped following us when we reached the exit. They left as if nothing came in the first place.

"Well, we lost 2 brave men, but at least were safe" John said.

"We got what we got. Now, you honor your side of the deal"

"Yes, we will bring in the bus to help transport you guys to the camp. But for now, we bring the plow and spikes there then transport you." Etheine said.

"We can wait. But not till night." John said. "We swear we will hunt you down if you dont return"

"Got that" Vermont said.

So, they carried the metal bars, for the plow was to big and heavy to transport, and left the St. Jude students there, waiting.
