Chapter 22: 'Problems'

I apologize beforehand, you can't have too many fluff chapters in a row.

3rd Person POV:

~The night before~

Amity could feel Luz push away from her and walk out of the room. She heard a quiet voice downstairs but was too tired to think anything of it. She sat up in her bed, waiting for Luz to return back from wherever she went. After a few long minutes, Amity got suspicious of where she was, but she returned before the Blight could get up.

Luz rushed into the room, seeming to be a little out of breath and shakey. "Where did you go?" Amity asked. "I just had to use the restroom," Luz said in a hesitant voice like she was unsure. Amity was getting a bit wearier of Luz but had no reason to think she was doing anything bad. "Do you mind bringing me some medicine? My head hurts," Amity asked.

Luz said she would, leaving Amity alone in her room. 'That's weird' She thought in her head but didn't want to question Luz.

Her girlfriend came back with the medicine, and she was very thankful. After that, they laid down again. Amity almost immediately fell asleep, but she remembered saying goodnight to Luz and mumbling something after that. She didn't know what, but she was sure it wasn't important.

~The current night~

Amity felt Luz thrash a bit next to her. It wasn't much, but enough to wake her up. She could her Luz mumble a quiet 'don't' in her sleep while squeezing her eyes a bit. Amity knew she was just dreaming but she was concerned. She put a hand on Luz's arm under the sheets and shook it. "Luz!" She whispered a bit loudly. She start thrashing a bit more. 

Amity moved her hand to Luz's shoulder, "Luz!" She said a bit louder. That's when Luz fluttered her eyes open and looked around, clenching the sheets tightly with one of her hands. She could feel a cold sweat on her forehead. 

"What...what's wrong?" She asked Amity next to her. "Nothing, what's wrong with you? Are you ok?" Amity asked. Luz sat up against the headboard, rubbed her eyes, and then the sweat off her head. "Yeah yeah, I'm fine," She lied a bit.

Another white lie.

"You don't seem fine, you looked really stressed out," Amity said worriedly.

"I'm fine, I don't know why I'm so worked up," Luz said.

Amity went to touch Luz's shoulder, which caused Luz to flinch and move away a bit. "Sorry, can I just cool down for a second?" Luz asked.

Amity put her hand back down slowly.

"What did you dream about," She asked.

"I don't remember," Luz said.

"Are you sure you don't, it seemed intense," 

"Yes, I'm sure,"

"You can talk to me about anything," 

"There's nothing to talk about,"

"Luz-"

"I don't wanna talk about it, Amity, please stop asking," Luz said harshly. She didn't say it loudly, she just snapped a bit.

Amity was taken aback, but she knew she shouldn't have instigated her.

Luz sighed, "I'm sorry, it's just too fresh for me to talk about, I don't want to just yet," She apologized.

Amity nodded, she didn't want to say something else to antagonize Luz.

Luz smiled at Amity and scooted closer to her, grabbing her hands. She gave her girlfriend a kiss on the cheek, "How about we go back to sleep?" Luz suggested. Amity smiled back, "That sounds good," She responded.
