t - 24 hours
eating dinner, chaewon glanced at her wrist, her eyes widening in shock. since she was caught up with school work she didn't even process how quick the timer was passing.
"only a day..." she whispered out while examining her wrist. it seemed as the years passed, the handwriting on her wrist seemed to get messier and messier, like they were written in a rush. chaewon remembered the little doodles that she would see on her wrist, including messy smiley faces and messily drawn stars.
the girl always wondered why they stopped appearing. had her soulmate's personality changed that much through the years? she snatched her gaze away from the mark just as her phone started buzzing, revealing a facetime call from minji.
just as she picked up, the girl on the other side screamed, "OH MY GOD, CHAE ONE MORE DAY! how do you feel?"
"i don't even know... i guess i'm kind of nervous?" the girl sent her friend a nervous smile through the screen, before continuing "but i'm so happy, i've waited for this for so long"
"lowkey sad that it's not me," minji faced a cry, making chae laugh.
"same, you're literally the coolest person i wish it was you. honestly, let's just move off to a private island together!"
the two continued their chatting way past 1am, talking about how hot caewon's soulmate must be to hot people minji saw at work.
chaewon really appreciated minji for talking to her for so long since she didn't want to think about what would happen that day. as much as she longed for this day, she felt that so much could go wrong and that the fairytale that she made in her head would be pointless.
deciding she was tired of overthinking, she grabbed her favorite stuffed animal and hugged it close to herself. taking one last glance at her wrist, she dozed off a smile lingering on her lips.

jisung groaned as he found himself lying on the floor of his bedroom, tangled with his sheets. looking out the window he could tell that it was much later in the day and he mentally noted to not play monopoly with the dreamies until 7am.
he stretched his tall frame as he got up from the floor and realized that no one had bothered him all day. usually, mr. lim would have nagged him to get up for some type of royal activity but oddly today there was no sign of him. there weren't even any maids bustling around outside of jisung's room.
deciding to take advantage of this free time, jisung quickly took a shower and changed into a hoodie and sweats. he never got to go out on his own, since someone would always catch him, so today was the perfect opportunity to sneak out. smirking at himself for realizing this, he grabbed a mask and hat and snuck out into the hallway.
