The new prince

3rd person pov.

Only three days till the last test of the Chunin exams began and Okami was still recovering. "You are as reckless as your older brother. *sigh* But then again your one of the most selfless people I've ever met." said the third Hokage rather sad that his friend once again ended in the hospital. "If I hadn't done anything then our clan would've lost both it's queen and it's new prince!" Okami defended herself, offended that she was being compared to her brother.

"I understand why you did it, but don't approve of how you did it. You should've asked for help and not done it alone." The third explained as he puffed on his pipe. "You're becoming a regular here at the hospital." The third joked. Okami only rolled her eyes as she laid back on bed. There was a knock on the door and in came all three of Okami's students. "SENSEI!!" They yelled with worry as they ran up to her.

"We heard what you did for the queen! Your sooo cool!" Kaden's said with twinkling eyes. "Yeah I mean you took down so many snakes alone!" Koda joined in with his brothers praise. "Sensei, thank you for protecting my mother and baby brother." Naomi said as she bowed down in respect. "No need to thank me. Now if you don't mind I'm a little tiered so I think I'll take a nap." Okami said as she watched everyone nod their heads and leave.

Okami got comfortable and snuggled into the bed she was on. Then she smelled someone in the room with her. "You know if someone sees you they'll get curious." Okami mumbled. "I heard you ended up here again, after fighting some monstrous snakes." "Yeah, and I got scolded for it too. Now why exactly are you here, Gaara?" Okami asked now facing the shinobi standing with crossed arms beside her bed.

"You've been very busy lately. Doing paperwork, training your students, helping those other lowlives and now protecting your clan that doesn't seem to respect you at all. Why is that?" Gaara asked not understanding how her mind works. Okami gave him a small smile. "Of course! My clan thinks I'm a monster, a killer or even a weapon. But I want to prove to them that I'm so much more then what they believe."

"You see I don't look at shinobi like my clan does, because my adoptive mother is a shinobi. I don't see monsters when I see tailed beast because my adoptive father himself is a tailed beast." Okami said as Gaara looked in complete shock and confusion. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was it really possible.

Okami let out a small giggle as she tilted her head and looked calmly at him. "You look confused. Want me to explain?" Gaara sat down on the bed still facing her, waiting for answers. "Well for you to understand completely I have to explain the war between my clan and the first five Kage." "It goes that far back?" Gaara asked in disbelief. Okami only nodded her head in disappointment.

"Long ago Naomi's great grandfather, king Sedca, helped the first Hokage stop a war between clans, by teaching him how to use wood style. And after that the hidden leaf came to be. Time went on and other shinobi villages came to be, but the first Hokage had to go to battle against someone who was controlling the nine tails. As a result, the first sealed it away in his own wife. That's when king Sedca told him off about it. They argued and fought, destroying the lands around them. My clan was responsible to insure no harm comes to tailed beast and the first Hokage knew of this, and he still did it."

Okami explained with a frown, but she continued. "As they continued to fight the first Hokage began sealing away all the other tailed beast. That's how the war started. My clan against the five Kage and their families. The Kage then captured the rest of the tailed beast and sealed them into other people, using them to fight our clan. King Sedca lost his pregnant wife to the first Kazekage. All he had left was his son, Naomi's grandfather."

"King Sedca gave up on the war to protect the rest of his clan. But on his way to find a safe place for them, he stumbled upon a tenth tailed beast only to find out the nine tails had a son. Fearing that shinobi will seal the last tailed beast away as well, he used some strange ability and turned the younger fox, Kurumu, into a human." Gaara froze, he was absolutely not expecting that.

"He turned a tailed beast into a human?" He asked. "Yeah. And King Sedca took him in for a few years. As time went on Kurumu met the two tails jenchuriki and he married her. Soon they adopted my eldest brother then they adopted me and my other brothers, and finally they adopted my little sister." Okami said as she looked down in shame.

"Wait so the nine tailed fox is your grandfather?" Gaara asked as he stared wide eyed at the wolf girl in front of him. "Yeah. But I never met him, all I know is that he only wants to return to his son. I have a feeling he might not eccept me, my sister or my mom." Okami said rather sad. That's when Gaara realized something, "My village attacked your clan. Why.. why don't you  attack me then?" He asked.

Okami wasn't expecting him to ask that, "Why would I? It wasn't you who killed so many of us. Besides you already have so much pain from being a jenchuriki." Okami said as she got closer to him and rested her forehead on his. Gaara felt heat rushing to his face. He felt warm in his chest, and it made him feel good. He didn't know what this feeling was, but he knew he only felt this way around Okami. And he really liked it. Only making him want her out of the village even more.

Time skip.

Okami was reading a book that Kakashi dropped off for her when he came to see her. She heard a knock then the door opened. She looked up to see Bella, Ibiki and Naomi, who was holding a tiny bundle in her arms. "Hey sensei! Do you want to hold my baby brother?" Naomi asked as she walked over revealing a small dark haired sleeping infant. The infant slowly opened his eyes, revealing his bright blue eyes as he stared up at the girls.



Okami could not believe her eyes. Her baby brother was so small and so precious. "A-are you sure?" She asked scared to touch the small thing. "Of course!! If it weren't for you, my brother would be dead right now." Naomi said with a smile. Okami gently wrapped her arms around his body. Okami couldn't help but tear up. She knew her birth parents or the council would never allow her to come near this little bundle of joy. So she had to saver each and every second of it.

"Princess Naomi, have your parents given our new prince a name yet?" Okami asked still smiling wondering what her secret brothers name could be. "Actually, father hasn't seen him yet and mother said she never thought about it." Naomi said looking at the floor in shame. Of course. Why was I expecting anything else? After all they weren't the ones to name me or her! Okami thought as a dark aura slowly wrapped itself around her.

"Well, what do you think his name should be my princess?" Okami asked trying to brighten the mood. "Well I had an intire list of names, but now that he's here none of them seems to sute him." Naomi said looking at her baby brother who was playing with her senseis finger. "Don't worry! You or someone in your family will come up with a name eventually." Okami reassured her with a small smile.

The blue eyed baby gave a big tiered yawn causing Ibiki, Okami and Naomi all yawn. "I think it might be time to get going." Bella said giggling at their actions. "I think you might be right my dear. Besides we still have to plan our wedding." Ibiki said wrapping his arm over Bella's shoulder. "Wait so you finally proposed!?" Okami was shocked about this news. "Yes!" Ibiki said proudly, "Took you long enough." Bella said giving him a sly look.

Bella took the now sleeping baby boy from Okami's arms as she and Naomi went to put him to rest. "The doctor said you'll be good to go tomorrow. Get some rest now." Ibiki said as he pat Okami on the head. She nodded her, "Thank you for everything Ibiki sensei." She said before rolling on her side to get some sleep. But before she drifted off she couldn't help but wonder if her adoptive parents and older brothers were here, what would they have called her new baby brother.
