WHAT ARE REAL MONSTERS (Gaara x Oc)

Safe and sound pt. 1

Gaara's pov.

Sakura was still healing me when a bunch of insects came and showed a message. "Word from your friend?" I asked as the girl gasped. "Ino is hurt!" "Go and help her." Was all I said as I got up. "But.." she began to protest, "I'll be fine." I reassured her. She then took off, I went to join Naruto and Lee in their fight. "Shouldn't you be off helping your friends?" Naruto asked when he saw me. "I have some time."

I got closer to the enemy who seemed pretty confident since he thought I was out of sand. How wrong he was. I used the sand from my armor that surrounded my body to create a big sharp needle. "This is all I'll need to defeat the likes of you." I said as I threw it at the man. It hit him straight through his chest, and he instantly went down on his knees. I did as well since I was pretty much exhausted. "Gaara! You okay?" Naruto asked next to me. Just as I was about to answer I heard Matsuri call for me.

"You go on ahead. I'll stay with bushy brow." Naruto told me. And with that I took of following after the man who had Matsuri. When I finally caught up to him he was cornered at a dead end. A wave of relief washed over me, knowing my pupil would be safe soon. I looked at the weapon I had helped her pick out and felt somewhat hopeful that I would be able to save her. For some reason he was acting as if he was the one who won.

He began saying how he knew I used up all my chacra. He was right, unfortunately. Then he went on about me having the Shukaku. Of course he brought that up. I thought. "With or without a weapon I will without a doubt defeat you!" I explained to him as he threw Matsuri, who was in a strange container, to the side. He called forth the armor that his fallen comrade had, then the other two weapons from his other comrades.

He began to attack me, not giving me much time to stop and think. I dodged best I could, but he still managed to scratch my shoulder. I had no chacra for my sand to help me, so I took out my kunai ready for that. He ended up backing me into a stone wall. "Not good." I said to myself. Just before he could continue Naruto interfered. But the enemy just threw him aside with a wind technique, saying how the five nations would all soon fall. Okami has friends in almost all of the five nations! She would not stand for this! I thought as I prepared myself.

The man explained the suffering they've been through thanks to shinobi. It made me think of the pain shinobi had put Okami through, and yet she never attacked any shinobi once! It just proved how much stronger she was compared to all of us. Naruto was thrown to a wall and struggling to get back up, so I used what little chacra I could muster up to create a sand dome around him, to protect him. This caught the enemy off guard a bit.

"I won't let you hurt him!" I said enraged. "You'd actually risk your life to protect this imbecile? That will be your down fall!" He said as something shot up from the ground before me. The next thing I know is that it turned into a cage. I was trapped. The cage without warning went completely shut, blocking me from the outside world. I used some sand to make my third eye, to see what was going on outside. I saw the man do some hand signs and suddenly I felt an unbearable pain.

Somewhere not too far away.
Okami's pov.

I was so worried about Gaara I hadn't even realized I had transformed into my wolf form. I continued to hurry not wanting to waist any time when I could be help protect him. I promised dad that I would protect other tailed beast, but that's not the only reason. Gaara has become very dear to me. I don't know what I'll do if something were to happen to him.

I caught the scent of blood and chacra coming from up ahead. I recognized it as both Gaara's and Naruto's. However there were two other scents that I didn't know. I'm close. Gaara, just wait for me a little longer. I thought as I quickened my pase. Finally I saw Naruto, he looked exhausted and in a lot of pain. Not to far from him was a white haired man that had the smell of the dead on him, no dought he originally is. There was an unconscious girl and an iron cage. I'm guessing Gaara is inside that thing.

I heard a painful cry coming from the cage, and it definitely belonged to Gaara. The strange man launched an attack towards Naruto. On instinct I ran to the blond idiot, grabbed him by his collar at the back with my teeth and jumped out of the way just in time. I gently placed Naruto down as I turned to growl at the man who dared to hurt my pack.

"Ahh. I assume you're a member of that savage wolf clan that was at war with the five Kage so long ago. Strange seeing one of your kind protecting a shinobi. I would've thought you'd be pleased to get rid of them. Especially the hidden leaf, considering that it was the first Hokage who started the war between you." The man said mockingly with a knowing smirk. It pissed me off. How the hell does this bastard know all that!? I thought. "Okami.." I heard Naruto breath out.

Suddenly the iron cage opened and I could see one of Shukaku's arms. Oh no! Gaara! I thought scared for his safety. I transformed back to normal and held a protective hand in front of Naruto, who was startled to see Gaara in the state he was in that moment. "Gaara-sensei!" I heard someone squick. I turned to look at the girl. "Naruto, get her away from here. I'll see what I can do about Gaara." I instructed him, he nodded his head as he took her a save distance away.

Soon enough all the others came to witness. I stood my ground, ready for anything. I overheard Naruto saying he was coming back, which made me worry. "Naruto! If you dare come over here all beaten up like you are know, I'll claw your eyes out! Got it!" I threatened as I glared back at him. He froze where he stood. Good. He'll be saver now. I thought as I returned to the battle at hand. The enemy began to brag about how honored he was to fight the one tail.

"Gaara!" I yelled, grabbing everyone's attention. "Don't you dare give in! You made me a promise! Remember!" I yelled at him hoping to get through to him. I saw how he was struggling with fighting himself and the extreme pain he was in, no dought. But it payed off. Gaara was able to overcome the one tail. The sand fell off him with a loud thud.

He looked exhausted, my heart was in pain seeing him like that. But I was still very proud of him, he kept his promise, that's all that matters. "So you didn't have enough chacra to complete the transformation, how disappointing." The dead man said, annoying me even further. "I made a promise and I intend to keep it! Besides if I want to protect my friends and those dear to me, I must do it with my own strength!" Gaara roared at the man. I smiled apon hearing that. So you finally understand. Took you long enough. I thought.
