                          D-Day; 2:00 PM

Today's the day.

When the tassel is changed to the right side of my graduation cap, I'm officially an adult from that moment on. Which is nerve-racking, to say the least, but considering all of my previous internships in psych wards and such, I guess you could say I was "prepared" for this moment.

My parents have been racing around the house in a frenzy all morning, terrified that they would forget something when it's time to leave and their worry caused me to panic, so I decided to clean my room, where I discovered my diary from when I was still in middle school, and if those entries ever came out, it would be the end of me.

My curtains were up and my windows were open, two candles were lit on my newly arranged desk, and music was playing via the speaker Peter had gifted me for our one-year anniversary. The school's royal blue cap and gown were laying flat on my bed as I sat in front of the full-length mirror, attempting to do winged eyeliner without appearing ridiculous.

"Damn it, how come I can't do this right?" I muttered as I took a makeup removal wipe from the packet and rubbed it on the corners of my eyelid, erasing away the crooked lines that had previously been there. Bliss was resting next to me, an unamused expression on her face as all five of her puppies latched on to one of her nipples and ate like they hadn't eaten since birth. I giggled quietly and rubbed the top of her head tenderly. "Listen, you're the one who decided to get knocked up by the neighborhood dog Bliss," I taunted, and she growled back, placing a paw on my leg as I sat poised on the heels of my feet.

Throwing my hands up in mock despair and shrugging my shoulders, "it's true," I closed the liquid eyeliner tube and replaced it with mascara. The huge mascara wand applied a thick coat to both of my top and bottom lashes, and I then closed it before going on to do my eyebrows.

My phone began to ring from my bed, where it was charging, a split second later. Quickly up and going to turn down the music, I walked up to the phone and pushed accept.

"Hey, I gotta make this quick, but can you please ask your parents if they'd be able to pick up my aunt May so she could ride with you guys to the ceremony?" Peter's voice came through the little phone as I put him on speaker and dropped it on the floor before returning to finish my brows.

"Yeah, I'm sure they'd be fine with it, but what about you?" I asked and sighed contently, shutting the brow pencil.

"I'm going for a swing." His voice trembled with a groan, and I could hear loud movement in the background.

"OK, but the ceremony begins at 4 p.m., so you can't be late." I reminded him, and he scoffed.

"Do you know who I am? I, Peter Benjamin Parker, have never been late for anything!" I let out a gentle giggle as he bragged about himself.
