Bio-Lab; 1:00 PMWhen the news broke, I was in the middle of planning upcoming experiments in the computer lab, with a notepad labeled classified information in front of me.
Shelbie, our lab technician, stormed into the room, knocking over a chair and stumbling over her own feet, disbelief etched in her eyes and lips parted.
"Norman Osborn Died"
Everyone else had left a little earlier to continue their various tasks, so I was the only one who remained in the room. The pen that had been feverishly pounding on the glass table came to a halt as I took a moment to process what she had said.
"Huh?"
Without saying anything, she dashed over to the computer I was using and opened a new tab, bringing up the live daily bugle news station.
"This just in, Norman Osborn, the legendary founder and CEO of Oscorp Industries, has died. The Osborn estate has confirmed. He is survived by his only son, Harry Osborn who is the sole heir of the Oscorp corporate empire. Osborn fundamentally changed the medical profession's approach to human healing and affected the lives of millions" As breaking news flashed across the monitor, a guy dressed in a silver tie and dark gray suit, with graying hair, spoke.
"So, what now? That means his son is our new boss?" I remained perplexed and turned to gaze up at her as she leaned over me, eyes trained to the screen.
"Yeah, I think so...I guess that's how it works" She trailed off in thought, her brow creased.
"But he looks to be my age." As a picture of Harry climbing into a car appeared on the screen, I returned my attention to it.
"At least he's cute," she said, and I could feel the smirk on her lips without even having to look up.
My face twisted into a grimace, and I locked my eyes tightly. "You're joking, right?"
She hummed in disapproval, and I shivered while pretending to gag, leading her to slap the back of my head.
"Oh come on Katherine, you can't deny that he's a cutie," she sighed, motioning to the picture, and I jerked my head up to look at her.
"Um, yes, I can..." I drifted off, and she rolled her eyes, shutting the browser.
"You know he could fire you if he heard you say that," she taunted as she began to walk out the door.
"Well, then, he'd be doing me a favor because the last person I'd want as my boss is a man who can't handle other people's opinions." I merely shrugged, and she chuckled gently.
"You know, I'm thinking of trying my chances with him; wish me luckk" She chanted and I could see her skip down the hallways through the windows.
"I think you're forgetting that he just lost his father!" I called out to her retrieving figure.
"SHELBIE? SHEL - oh forget it"

Osborn Speech;Dismissed For The Day"I started Oscorp because I looked at the world around me and I thought, we can do better, and we should do better. Einstein said, "The world Cannot be changed without changing our thinking. But change isn't just a slogan. It begins with hard work. Change begins with persistence and commitment."
The head scientist of the biology lab, Amal Gibbs, called everyone to the meeting room to make an announcement regarding Osborn.
"Mr. Osborn changed the world, and now it's up to each of us to ensure that his hopes and dreams remain alive, but not today. Today is for mourning, and with that, all of you have the rest of the weekend off. We'll continue where we left off Monday."

Max's Party;8:00 PM
"Are you sure that this is the building?" Peter asked as he and I, along with Erin, strolled along the dimly illuminated corridors of Trowat Apartments, where Max stays.
Erin was ahead of us, checking every number on the doors for the correct one.
"I hope so since this is the address he texted us," Erin answered, emotion void from his tone.

"Oh, here it is, 231." I pointed to the brown-painted door, which was damaged around the edges.
As Erin knocked twice and backed up to stand next to us, Peter lightly linked our hands.
An older woman with gray curly hair, wrinkles, rounded glasses, and brown skin answered the door a minute later.
"May I help you?" Her strong accent questioned as she clutched a cane in her right hand and supported her back with the other.
"Hi, Mrs. Dillon. we're here for Max's birthday party. He said we should come at about this time" I answered with a courteous grin, and she shook her head, her face twisted.
"Max isn't here." She was going to shut the door but Erin intervened.
"'sorry, but what do you mean he's not here?" He stretched his neck to gain a better look inside.
"I mean, he never came back from work; I'm not sure where he is, but I'm sure he'll stop by later." She slammed the door shut, a rush of wind blowing in our faces.
"Well..." Peter paused before turning to face us.
"Why would he invite us if he had other plans?" Erin remarked, irritably, as he sighed and snatched his phone from his jacket pocket.
"Something has to be wrong because Max isn't the kind to go out anyplace if it's not job-related, especially at night." I frowned and looked at Peter, who gave me a tight-lipped smile, then at Erin, who was texting rapidly on his phone.
"Granted, we've only known him for a few months, but..." I began to ramble.
"I'm not sure, but we'll see him at work tomorrow anyhow, so we can talk about it then... but I'm out." Erin then walked by us and down the corridor to the stairwell labeled 'B.'
"We should go too," Peter slowly tugged on my hand, and I followed him to the stairway as well, confusedly glancing back at the door.
