Thought-provoking

While laying in bed

I begin to shiver
due to the cold

Yes, the cold

Despite the fact that it's
Summer.

Despite the fact that
my blanket has engulfed me.

Despite the fact that my
heart is beating so fast
to the point
That it painfully hurts.

Despite the fact I can
feel sweat forming on my forehead
and my head is pounding.

Despite the fact I'm
breathing so fast, that
I'm struggling to catch air
that it's becoming an exercise
all on it's on accord.

Despite that I feel
as if I'm suffocating
from the heavy breaths
and dizziness

Despite the fact that my call
for help comes out as no more
than a quiet gasp of air
as I'm choking

I don't dare to think
of the logical reason
As to why I
was led to
This point and time

No, Instead

I blame it all on
The cold

It's easier that way
Then to admit
Something
Is
Wrong.
