Chapter 5: Catch little Akong! Part 1

After the chaotic, rumbling sound that the Beast of Steel had created, the maze was left in complete silence. Yuu walked aimlessly throughout the area. Casually walking with his hands' placed inside his jacket, looking like he had care in the world.

"So the Beast of Steel made the rumbling and eliminated over a hundred Participants...? Hmm... Interesting..." Mumbled the bandaged man as he pinched the bottom of his chin.

Suddenly, a gateway sprouted from the ground in front of him and revealed a blue portal. Yuu was alerted as he came to a sudden stop before examining the object.

"A portal...?" He asked himself. "A portal to where...?"

Then, all of a sudden, he felt a pair of hands touch him from behind. It was only a matter of time for Yuu to realized that he was pushed from behind as he went into the portal before it closes behind him.

The bandaged man stumbles onto the ground as he slowly picked himself up and dusted his clothes with an annoyed look.

"Who the heck pushed me?!" He mumbled in annoyance before remembering the sensation that he felt from the hands that touched his back. It was rather soft and squishy. Gentle to touch as he pondered to himself on who those hands could have belonged to.
"Those hands... They were too soft to be a Pululu... Even if they were a Pululu I still could have heard them sneak up from behind but... I didn't..." His look of annoyance suddenly became serious as he changed his slanted posture into a straight one. "Whoever that person was... Wasn't an ordinary person... I'll have to keep my guards up for now..." He finished mumbling to himself before realizing that he was teleported into a dark room with a floating diamond-shaped object in front of him as it glowed and transformed into one of the red-cloaked Pululu.

"Minigame Time! You are one of the few participants to have found a Minigame Gateway. Congratulations!"

"Minigame...?" Asked the bandaged man before the Pululu continued to announce to everyone, which is the Running Men, who have managed to enter the Minigame Gateway.

"There are 3 types of Minigame in this game and the Minigame Gateways are scattered throughout the game stages. The rules are simple, once the Minigame starts, you must defeat your opponents by collecting more points than them. You cannot eliminate your opponent by removing their shields. If you succeed in eliminating your opponent you will be rewarded with a powerful item that can help you in times of need!" The announcer finished explaining the rules towards the Running Man as they stood in silence. "Alright then... Stage Open!"

A bright light illuminated the room, forcing all of them to cover their eyes from the blinding lights before all of them were teleported to the Minigame area. The first to arrive was Lonky and Popo as they became alert to their surroundings, trying to see who their opponents would be.

However, the Penguin seemed to be distracted by the shifting walls that gave the area platforms to jump on to. Having a fascinated look upon his face.

"Hey! Popo!" Lonky called out to him, breaking his distraction from the moving platforms. "Now's not the time to be admiring the area! We must prepare to face our opponents as a team!"

"Y... Your right!" Popo said in return. "Wait... Who is our opponent?" Asked the penguin as Lonky became quiet for a moment before replying.

"...Frankly speaking... I have no idea... But come what may, we can defeat them because we are a team!" Lonky spoke with a loud voice that gave the penguin a surge of motivation.

"Yeah BRING IT ON!" Shouted the penguin as they braced themselves for what was to come.

Until they realized that their opponents were none other than themselves.
