Chapter 8

"It's been 2,000 years since I had fun like that." says Goddess Elara looking refreshed.

"I'm glad I can be of service." Johan says.

"I think I've had my fill from you sir, we need to get back to business." she says pointing at him.

"I'm not going to stop us from getting back to business, but you mentioned a blessing that we needed." Johan says.

"That was a blessing of sorts. A long time ago people used that way to bless their mating but it fell out of favor." Goddess Elara says, shrugging her shoulders.

"I'm not mad about it. Mates are possessive creatures and it makes sense that not everyone likes to share. I have noticed though, how the ones with multiple mates are more open to sharing, not with others but more with us Gods and Goddesses."

"The blessing is needed for the pack meeting you're having later. People are going to question the fact that you have multiple mates."

"If I say that we're all mates that's what it is. As ALPHA my word is law." Elijah says, crossing his arms.

"True but they are still going to think it. You don't own their minds or hearts. Some will question the validity and others will feel that you're being cheated. Some won't care." Goddess Elara says looking at the apple blossoms.

I look at Elijah standing there looking like all the ALPHA he is and say, "She does have a point, Elijah."

"Of course, I do." Elara says, turning towards us. She plucks an apple blossom from the tree and it glows bright.

"Come to me." She says as she holds her hand out.

We walk to her and she presses the blossom to each of our marks and a perfect replica shows on our skin.

"This blossom will represent my blessing. It will glow when it needs to and people will know it's my mark on you. What I am about to say is going to be hard to hear but still needs to be said." She says looking at Elijah

"You're people are poorly trained." She holds her hand up to stop Elijah from speaking,

"Your warriors are trained well but everyone else has gotten lazy. What would happen if you were attacked and infiltrated? Your people have become complacent in their safety. There's a storm coming and they are NOT prepared."

I look at Elijah. This is the same thing I was seeing when I first arrived. The warriors are guarding the borders and the ranked men and women are too soft. Now's the time to speak my mind.

"I thought the same thing when I arrived. Now that the Goddess has seen that we will have a babies this isn't good enough. They will need to be protected from whatever is coming." I knew bringing up our children would squash any argument against what we were saying.

"I understand and that will change. I've been thinking about making changes and I see that I need to do it now." He says.

"Good." She says, looking at me. "Violet, you will be meeting more family soon and before you ask I'm not telling you who it is because where would the fun be if I told you. You know I can't give you exact details. I can only point you in the direction. I will help as much as I'm able but in the end it's up to you." She says handing me a flower.

"I believe I told you everything I needed to. Now I want to go home. I'm going to leave this space here so we can talk again. Go be fruitful and multiply....like rabbits." She says disappearing leaving us to look at each other. We change to our wolves and head

home, knowing that we were headed for a major change.

"Who does that bitch think she is?" Anna says while throwing back another shot. She taps the bar with the empty glass to signal that she wants a refill.
