Violet watched as everyone left the impromptu potluck. The Blue Ridge Mountain pack doesn't really do togetherness. It's the kind of pack where its members mind their own business and most recently has started to become scared of its own shadow. Knowing the Alpha he probably thought this was a good way to get back on the pack's good side.
They would have to be blind to what the Alpha's son is doing behind not so quiet doors. He is trash of the lowest kind. He's an entitled little shit that's further spoiled by his father because he's his last child. His father actively covers up for him or acts like he did nothing. I have been with this pack for 20 years and it is no longer the pack I knew.
"Rose when everyone leaves, we'll grab our dishes so they don't come up missing. You know how people get at these potlucks." I tell my oldest daughter.
"Mom, I don't know why we come to these things, everyone just looks at us like we're weird. I don't like the way the douche has been staring at you this entire time." Rose says, grabbing the dishes off the table.
"I told you not to call him that when we're around people, we're werewolves you know everyone can hear you, right?"
"She doesn't care Mom, that's why she said it and everyone here knows what he is, they are just too scared to say anything." Alex says as she helps her sister.
"None of that matters, what matters is that you watch what you say and who you are around when you say it. I hope you're paying attention to the life lessons I'm trying to teach you because it involves your safety."
"I saw him on his way here and I already know that he's up to something." Rose says slightly quieter.
"Okay honey. We will pack up everything faster even if he comes in to speak to me there's too many people around for him to outright do anything. You already know I know how to handle myself so just help your sister take the things to the car."
We all know who "he" is. Victor the Alpha's son. He has it in his head that I'm supposed to be with him. No matter how many times I have told him I'm not interested.
I remember that I have a serving platter still in the kitchen, so I go to grab it. When I get halfway there Victor steps in my way.
"Long time no see Vi." He says with a smile.
MOVE!
Aruna, I need you to calm down.
I don't like him. I know what he wants and I'm not for him.
I got this.
I put on a smile that is a mix of go to hell and get out of my way. "First, you know my name is Violet. Second, what do you want? Third, forget the second and just move."
I start to step around him and he puts his arm out in front of me. "Now don't be that way beautiful. I just want to chat. What? Afraid to leave your mutts alone?"
That sets me and Aruna off. How dare he bring my pups into this. I let a growl escape my lips. He realizes he messed up and starts takes a small step back but catches himself.
"My mutts? Look boy, we are not friends and I'm not in the mood for your games. I'm not interested in anything you have to offer. My pups are my everything and here is some advice....Don't ever let me hear you speak about them again. I feel like you're threatening them and you know what that means to threaten an Alpha 's pups." I see him catch his breath quickly because my eyes shine pure purple light.
"Yeah you must've forgotten that at the end of the day no matter how much you're the ALPHA'S son I'm still stronger." I forget the dish in the kitchen and head straight to the car where my family is waiting. This is coming to a head and I need to keep my family close and safe until it's over.
